Laddingford Beekeepers

Day 2 of my giving it back project. 5 acres formerly rape. Getting the native hedging and trees in this week. Meadow, scrapes and other habitats all in the plans

Back in for the second time. Went and got a frame of brood. They don't normally abscond with brood in the box but it's been a weird year so far

Chased them down the road 500m and waited for them to settle. Now in the nuc. Take them to isolation later today. Seem good natured and are very dark

We don't like your nuc so let's all go round this mulberry bush. No pleasing some. Will have another go when they have settled!

What a beauty. Nice and easy. Get the kit out and suit up.......2 minutes later and they where all back in the air.

On holiday in Crete and this is the Oriental Hornet(Vespa Orientalis) which is damaging local hives. These are also solar powered!

Beekeepers know some bees are better than others at combating disease. Better housekeeping bees helps too. news.psu.edu/story/453712/20…

As we all know bees are great accumulators. Those parts per million soon add up scienmag.com/new-data-uneart…

Marking 50 drones last week as part of the drone drifting survey for KBKA. Opening adjacent hives for results today
