If you're fit, you can double at the conference meet and run PRs...
...even if you haven't done that up to this point in the season.
Trust your training, trust the race plans, and go compete.
Let's go!

The opportunity to compete in high school track is a gift.
Don't assume you'll have more fun as a collegiate athlete or as a fast adult road racer.
Focus on this week's meet and savor the chance to compete in your school's uniform.
Let's go!

4. Don't cheat the process
5. Don't avoid competition

5 things you will never regret:
1. Being a good teammate
2. Keeping a positive attitude
3. Giving your best effort in all you do
4. Bringing positive energy to your team

None of this is easy.

HS Athletes: Make your coach's life easy by...
- Looking at the heat sheets and figuring out when you should start your warm-up. Confirm with them, but do the work first.
- When your race is over, ask if they need help with anything, possibly getting splits for teammates.

Your coaches are watching you every day. This off-season will tell them a lot about who’s committed to improving/growing/working hard & who’s only interested when it’s convenient for them. There’re no secrets. You can & will only be great at what you’re willing to sacrifice for!

I always hesitate when I start to wish an athlete good luck. Luck seems to diminish your efforts. It’s the training and positive attitude and effort that brings success. Anyways I’m rooting for you pentathletes, stay positive and give it your best.
