Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) suffered a stroke yesterday after experiencing numbness in his arm while attending his son’s hockey game, according to his chief of staff.
Murphy is awake, alert, and responding well to treatment at Johns Hopkins. Doctors are encouraged by his progress and optimistic he will make a full recovery.
Wishing Senator Murphy a speedy and full recovery.

Found this old drawing from my daughter. It says so much about how I feel. The world goes on, things appear “normal” - as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids - but it’s not and it never will be. For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know. Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us. 
Thank you to all those who have been kind, and remind us of the best of humanity. Join us in praying without ceasing. 💛

This morning started with heartbreak after waking up to find my van broken into, two windows shattered, and two lawnmowers stolen. For a moment, I thought I wouldn’t make it to the Louisiana Book Festival. But I reminded myself that one bad moment doesn’t have to ruin an entire day. Despite everything, I made it! Standing here surrounded by the five children’s books I’ve worked so hard to bring to life means more to me today than ever before. They may have taken my lawnmowers, but they couldn’t take my joy, my purpose, or my determination. Thank you to everyone who reached out with love and encouragement. Today, I’m choosing gratitude over frustration. ❤️
