🐹 I got in a taxi in Korea and the taxi driver told me "BTS saved my life"-
🐥 You're having conversations with taxi drivers? Do you usually start your ride with "Hello, it's me BTS' Jin"
🐹 No, it usually starts with "By any chance, are you.."
💜 Ahhhhh!
🐹 Then I go, yep, you're right, that's none other than me~ THAT'S NONE~ OTHER THAN ME~
🐨 They go like "You look familiar~?"
🐥 YUP, that's me
🐹 Nah not like that, they just go "By anyyy chance?" And it feels kinda off to lie, so I just accept it like yep, that's me
🐥 So what did they say?
🐹 They said that their life was saved thanks to BTS. He was an ahjussi like a much older man than me and explained it in detail, like how his business failed, everything went down, and his life was so difficult, and he approached bts' music at that time and said that the lyrics were so beautiful and pretty- to be honest, Namjoon played a huge role in that, it was so beautiful that it gave him strength..
🐿 This is such a unique situation like
🐨 Yeah, taxi driver is a first
🐱 I've heard that a lot from Koreans overseas
🐹 I've heard it at restaurants too!
🐿 Restaurants, yes!

7 years ago today, this iconic yellow sweater Yoongi performing “Seesaw” caused a cultural reset.
One of the coolest concert experiences ever was during D-Day when Yoongi silenced our cheers will a single gesture and told us "You guys listen really well".
When BTS ask us to do/ stop doing something during a concert and we do it?
*That* is the best ARMY culture.

This is what has been breaking up the fandom the last few years - it all flows back to one thing - the lack of following ARMY etiquette when in ARMY space.
ARMY etiquette matters because a global fandom CANNOT function without shared standards.
We all come from different countries, cultures and backgrounds but when nationalism takes priority over our shared identity as ARMY - it creates DIVISION.
We see all of those divisions hurting our fandom now - streaming, concert volume, BTS favorite, etc. We are becoming less and less united and some seem to have forgotten why ARMY etiquette exists in the first place.
These guidelines werent arbitrary rules. They helped us build a global fandom where people from different countries could work together to support BTS and earn global respect as a community. We grew stronger because we had shared values that went beyond national borders.
When people put their own country first in ARMY space everything becomes a competition. Unity and our strength disappears, the conflict grows, and the fandom we built together begins to fracture.
We didnt become a respected global fandom by putting our countries first when we are in ARMY spaces. We grew by learning to work together as ONE ARMY. If we forget that we WILL lose what made us special in the first place.
Soapbox out…

the girl jimin saw being taken out of the crowd in argentina concert shared her story !!
🗣️: “I want to share my experience at BTS’s concert on October 21 in Argentina.
🗣️: During Fire, the pogo became incredibly intense. Everyone was moving, and even if you tried to stand still, the force of the crowd would move you along with them.
🗣️: At first, I decided to enjoy it as much as I could and go along with the energy. But during Fire, I reached my limit. I called security and asked them to please get me out of there.
🗣️: Jung Kook, SUGA, j-hope, and Jimin were in that section, and Jimin was standing right in front of me. That’s why Jimin saw what happened.
🗣️: Security took me out of the crowd, and another ARMY who was behind me was taken out too, they sat me down for a moment. They gave me some air and water before I continued walking.
🗣️: I was making my way through a narrow passage between the stage and the barriers when the song ended. That’s when I heard Jimin say something along the lines of, ‘Please don’t push. Try not to push yourselves. It can be dangerous.’ The translator then repeated his message in Spanish.
🗣️: And I thought to myself, ‘He’s saying this because he saw me struggling to breathe.’
🗣️: I felt embarrassed that Jimin had witnessed me being taken out of the crowd like that. I felt bad that he had seen me in such a difficult situation.
🗣️: Thankfully, I wasn’t actually having an asthma attack. It was the pressure of the crowd that had made it difficult for me.
🗣️: Security continued escorting me toward the medical area where they checked my blood pressure and made sure I was breathing properly. They also gave me a few puffs from an inhaler.
🗣️: That was my experience at the concert.
🗣️: It’s still crazy to me that Jimin saw what happened to me. I felt embarrassed that I had to be taken out of the crowd right in front of him, and then, shortly afterward, he asked everyone to calm down and stop pushing.

For those who don't know, Itaewon Halloween tragedy happened on October 29th, 2022. It was deadliest crowd crush in South Korean history with 159 deaths and 196 injuries and the second & Korea's deadliest disaster and mass-casualty, only behind the Sewol ferry tragedy in 2014. The event shook the entire South Korean nation. All domestic events were canceled for weeks in honor of those who lost their lives and even now many families are still reeling over the devastating aftermath effects.
With the tragedy's anniversary fast approaching, BTS has a right to be concerned. No one said not to respect your culture. But BTS are KOREAN artists at their roots and you're at THEIR CONCERT. Respect for one's culture has to go both ways. They speak up because they care for your safety & well-beings. Furthermore, if something happens, the Korean media will not care it's part of your concert culture. They will all the blame on BTS & crucify them.
Please put yourself in their perspectives and try to understand where they are coming from. Sharing your culture with BTS is one thing, but they should not have to brush over theirs to cater to yours. Safety should always be the first priority and respect for one's culture should go both ways.
They never met. They didn't know the same language. But somehow, they were speaking the same color💙
This pairing is one of many moments in "RM x SFMOMA" where a work from RM's collection & a work from SFMOMA's collection are hung side by side, in dialogue, for the first time.
