NEW Gadi Eisenkot, Benjamin Netanyahu's main rival and leader of the Yashar party, says a majority of Israelis โ€” by more than half a million votes โ€” voted against "the government of October 7 and draft-dodging," and that any Knesset member willing to sign on to his four principles is a potential partner in a new government. He also warns that some are working to cast doubt on the results. His principles: โ€” Recognize Israel as a Jewish, democratic, liberal and egalitarian state. โ€” Uphold the values of Israel's Declaration of Independence. โ€” Support mandatory military, national or civilian service for all Israeli citizens. โ€” Recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization and support destroying its military and governing power in Gaza. Eisenkot also says he intends to use the parliamentary majority immediately to establish a state commission of inquiry into October 7, advance mandatory service for all Israelis and expand the number of people serving in the IDF, and repeal Netanyahu's judicial overhaul laws, which he calls "regime-coup laws." On the war, he says it is not over and its goals have not been achieved โ€” but until a new government is sworn in, he will back military operations only against direct, immediate threats to Israel that cannot wait. He says a supreme effort must be made to avoid another election, that the decision on the next government belongs to Israeli citizens alone "without involvement and manipulation," and warns the coming weeks will be full of spin and lies.

Kinda crazy to be at a hospital called Beth Israel and be told that they donโ€™t have kosher food. Then a chaplain shows up and says they actually do. Then I order and they hand me an omelette that expired five months ago.

Hello from Vail, Colorado! Itโ€™s time to announce when weโ€™re flying back home to Germany. November 8th, next Sunday, will be the end of our USA trip. That means this weekend will be our last full weekend in the States and we want to make the most of it! Weโ€™ll be in the Denver/Boulder area, and there are quite a few sporting events to choose from. CU Boulder plays Kansas State on Saturday, the Colorado Avalanche have a game that evening and the Broncos play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. So we still have the chance to experience both an NHL and NFL game on this trip. And since itโ€™s Halloween weekend, we also want to visit a haunted house, check out a pumpkin patch and walk through some neighborhoods to see all the decorated houses. Could be a really fun last full weekend in America! Weโ€™d love to hear your suggestions on what we should do and which of these experiences you think we shouldnโ€™t miss!

My kids are missing out on the rampant violence of our local public school, robbed of the opportunity to spend all day with kids who canโ€™t read or write or do math on grade level.
Everything you do with home school you can do after school (think of it as filling in gaps) so your kids get both. Of course, at this age, it isn't really all that important, you're only robbing them of priceless lifelong friendships and fascinating tutors.

Trump normalized this shit and now itโ€™s just what national leaders do after they lose an election. Weโ€™ll be dealing with his mess for quite awhile.

Gal Eisenkot canโ€™t vote in this election. Gal Eisenkot was killed in battle against Hamas. His father Gadi, however, can vote. And heโ€™s running to replace Netanyahu. Netanyahu says Gadi is on the side of โ€œPalestine.โ€
On his way to vote, Gadi Eisenkot stopped at the grave of his son, Gal, who was killed in battle against Hamas.

Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic, says AI should one day be priced by the value it creates: a few cents for telling someone to restart their Mac, maybe tens of millions for telling a drug company to move an aromatic ring to the other end of a molecule. I understand the wish. I don't think the market will grant it. I started in telecom in the 90s. Nobody ever paid us what a phone call was worth to them. The call that closed a deal and the call to say happy birthday cost the same, and the price was set by the next carrier willing to carry it for less. AI is heading the same way. On Saturday Torsten Slok, the chief economist at Apollo, wrote that outside the big tech companies, corporate America is starting to treat token spending as a cost center that weighs on margins. Apollo also notes that demand is so price sensitive that it switches to cheap open-source models when prices go up even modestly. The tens of millions from the better molecule go to whoever owns the molecule. If AI labs want to be paid for value, they will have to own the outcome: discover the drug, run the trial, hold the patent. That is why Isomorphic Labs, the drug discovery company Alphabet spun out of DeepMind, matters more than any pricing page. Selling intelligence is becoming a commodity business. Owning what intelligence discovers is not.

Israeli elections are fun because: 1. Israel is the subject of intense global interest 2. Israeli politics is deeply polarized 3. Despite (2), the blocs don't really disagree about the thing that the world is interested in

Hans-Hermann Hoppe is not an idiot, so what heโ€™s doing here is just evil. To say that nothing in WWI or WWII rivals what Israel is doing in Gaza is absurd, even if you accept the most maximalist anti-Israel position on Gaza. And then he immediately pivots to Holocaust denial. Really fitting hearing this in that German accent. Hoppeโ€™s father served in the German army during WWII btw.

FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%. FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours. Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for Americaโ€™s affordability crisis. Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.

And the destruction of the Osirak reactor in Iraq and the nuclear plant the North Koreans were helping Syria build. All condemned in public.
Remember that both the capture of Eichmann and the Entebbe raid were globally condemned. Those who sacrifice the security of the Jewish state for the approval of the gentiles will have neither. Modern Jewish nationalism exists because Herzl saw millions of educated modern Frenchmen degenerate into a shambling, gibbering mob of antisemitic biomass the instant the Dreyfus Affair gave them the permission structure to do so. If you want Bibi and company out of office, thatโ€™s understandable, but history has plainly shown us that when the mob successfully intimidates Jews into complying with one of their wishes, they never, EVER stop there.

Tucker isnโ€™t retarded. Iโ€™m starting to think Jack might be. Their followers who eat this stuff up definitely are.
Tucker Carlson: โ€œI donโ€™t think thereโ€™s much debate about the definition of America First. It means putting the interests of American citizens above all others.โ€ โ€œThat would definitely not include sending tens of billions of tax dollars to genocidal ethnostates in the Middle East so they can kill kids.โ€ โ€œThatโ€™s not America First. The non-partisan tax foundation found that high income taxes hurt growth. Itโ€™s critical that Colorado voters reject Amendment 87 which would make Colorado the 9th highest taxed state. Itโ€™s not to late to vote No on amendment 87
States with no individual income tax (Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Nevada, and others) consistently rank among the strongest gainers, while states with the highest top rates (California at 13.3 percent, New York at 10.9 percent, and New Jersey at 10.75 percent) dominate the list of largest losers.
