For kids who crave routine, special events and schedule changes have likely been overwhelming this week. Tomorrow, many kids and adults in #OntEd may be hanging on by a thread. Expect unexpected behaviours. Extend grace. Be gentle with yourself.

Breaking: Doug Ford is the Premier of Ontario and responsible for the Highway Traffic Act, the Municipal Act, and the City of Toronto Act.
I just drove 12 KM across Toronto. It took me 51 minutes. This city is broken.

When are my students the most focused with 100% participation and engagement? During my direct instruction spelling lesson. That’s not a coincidence.

Every Canadian, regardless of their opinion of the Prime Minister or political affiliation, should feel deeply offended by President Trump's remarks. We might one day be grateful for this WAKE-UP CALL. For too long, we have been complacent in our relationships with the United States and the rest of the world. We need to unite and rise to this historic occasion to shape the future of Canada. #cdnpoli
No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year? Makes no sense! Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!! Donald Trump Truth Social 03:23 AM EST 12/18/24

Today, @PierrePoilievre stood up in front of Canadians and said Canadians are worried about cuts to social programs. The very social programs he said Conservatives don't believe in. The very social programs he has voted against time and time again. He is an absolute snake.

When you don’t brush and floss your teeth AND you skip some of the dental visits, you don’t get to blame the dentist for your bad teeth. People need to STOP BLAMING SCHOOLS for kids that are behind…especially with the chronic absenteeism we’ve all noticed. #MaslowBeforeBloom

A stat you'll never hear about: number times a teacher finds it easier to come in while sick/injured than plan for a supply teacher.

Todays Abacus — Bonnie Crombie now has the lowest net approval rating among Ontario party leaders, even Doug Ford! When major Toronto Star voice frame the race as Ford v Crombie and puts blackout coverage on economic news and NDP’s Stiles, they’re giving Ford the win

Every single #Conservative just voted in House against abortion rights. Tell your Conservative MP you’re disgusted that they want to take away a woman’s right to choose. We can’t repeat catastrophic increase in deaths of women in US due to denial of reproductive health rights.
Conservatives aim 2 block not just abortion services but also discussions on women's reproductive rights in the House of Commons. This effort to silence debate reflects their intolerance, making it clear why Canadians should be concerned about a potential Conservative gov’t. #NDP

When Ford says he doesn’t have money to pay nurses, keep ERs open, fund our schools, pay workers - remember this. #ONPoli
The AG finds the total cost to redevelop Ontario place could be $2.2 billion, though it didn’t have to be that expensive as 7 of the 10 bids included provisions to pay for things like parking with private funds. The government is now spending $280M of taxpayer $ on parking.

I don't use this word lightly, but I will use it. Doug Ford's gov't is corrupt. The Minister of Infrastructure, Kinga Surma, mislead Ontarians for years. Now taxpayers are footing the bill for more than $1.8B. She's got to resign & Ford should fire her if she doesn't. #onpoli

There is a 0% chance I am voting for @fordnation in the next election, and I know I'm not alone. Not even close. I don't care what the polls say. Like and retweet if you feel the same. #onpoli #cdnpoli #onted

We cannot think of schools as the solution for every challenge students face. That’s one of the big reasons teachers/schools are in this mess to begin with.

I know I'm probably going to lose followers for this, but, I have to be me, and I have to be true to myself... So, here goes.... Doug Ford is overtly corrupt and actively harming our province. Poilievre is a snake oil salesman, trying to weasel his way into power. #SV4A🐊

“All misbehavior is an expression of an unmet need!” 1) Just no 2) Insofar as that is true (it’s not), sometimes that unmet need is healthy adult authority and a swift consequence

Differentiation is the biggest grift of the last 20 years. So much money and human capital invested in a technique that is impossible in a class of more than 2 students.
Every teacher I can ever recall talking to about differentiation complains that it doesn’t work because the range of abilities in a classroom is too large. It is one of the most uniformly expressed opinions in education. So why do we persist in the myth that it works?
