How could he possibly have known!?!?!
Bumped into a trans woman today at the grocery store. She smiled and said hi. I smiled and said hi back. Nothing happened. I didn’t become trans myself, It’s like there were Just two people living their lives normally If that bothers you then, you’re an asshole.

"Her". This is an unnecessary and brutal misgendering. Do better
Taash and ALL of her dialogue (beyond the recruitment quest) is optional as well. Which you knew because you played the game, right? RIGHT!? Not a single part of her trans storyline shows up in the recruitment quest; that's all optional if you CHOOSE to take her as a companion and pursue her favor and OPTIONAL storylines. Zero pronouns. Zero "bharv". Zero lecturing. Zero ANYTHING unless you CHOOSE to have her as a main companion. Freaking LARPers and tourists, claiming they've played @bioware games when it's clear they've NEVER logged a single hour in any of them.

So because statistically, sober drivers are involved in more fatal crashes than drunk drivers in absolute numbers, that's the statistic I should bear in mind when deciding whether I get in a drunk or sober person's car for a lift home, right?

Just like you condemned it when the UK prevented foreign politicians from entering the country..... oh....
The mockery of British elected representatives being detained by a rogue state is disgraceful. Whatever your politics, this should be a matter of principle. Israel must not be allowed to act with impunity. I hope our government condemns this in the strongest possible terms.

FT comments never miss. I don’t think I’ve read such a rational analysis of the situation we’re in for a long time.
I've been in France since 2002 and have never seen the streets so violent nor the politics so extreme. From the sacking of the supermarket on my street to the prospect of Présidente Le Pen, here's me @FT including thoughts from 2 French Nobel laureates as.ft.com/r/addcad57-0f9d-4e…

When you spend your life lying about your sex, lying about everything else comes so naturally....
But happy to be funded by the evangelical far right?

Fucking hell! These are the people who run our country....
Nope, that’s not how taxes and price works. The price is determined by demand and supply. Companies charge the highest price they can given demand. A tax levied on *profits* does not affect a company’s cost ie supply. Taxes on *windfall* profits (like oil and gas) are the most efficient kind of tax there is.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Corporate profit taxes do not directly shift marginal costs but empirical studies show partial pass-through into higher consumer prices. Windfall taxes on oil and gas have deterred investment and production in practice despite theoretical efficiency on rents. dadun.unav.edu/server/api/cor… ecb.europa.eu/pub/pdf/scpwps… taxfoundation.org/blog/big-oil-p… scottishfinancialreview.com/2025/09/03/win…

This is very good. Using your critics principles and language back at them forces them to either engage in the issues or admit those principles are bollox.... though I strongly suspect they will just scream "bigot!" and run away

In the world of unlikely things, I find this.... unlikely.
And so it begins. This is what I arrived to this morning. If there are any positives to be taken from it, at least they can spell. I could still cry, though.

It cannot be said often enough that drawing parallels between Rooney and Rushdie is incredibly offensive, and in many cases I think deliberately so (particularly since a lot of those supporting Rooney have never defended Rushdie to begin with).
If you ever sought out the novels of Sally Rooney in bookshops – when that was still possible – you’d know they sit in the fiction stacks adjacent to the novels of another SR whose books have been withdrawn in dastardly political circumstances. Until last week, “Rooney” and “Rushdie” had little in common beyond being shelfmates; now they have more than just a physical proximity. @tanjil_rashid_: This is censorship by other means newstatesman.com/comment/202…

Can you be really specific about how you want the legisaltion amended? That can only really mean removing laws against the financing of terrorist organisations - is that what you mean? Don't vaguely virtue signal, be absolutely explicit about what you want changed and how

This Rooney Rushdie equivalence would be hilarious if it wasn't so genuinely dangerous

I missed this the first time around. This is the ACTUAL European Commission. Wild
The battle of narratives is going strong. Our countries are a recurring target. It is time to act to tell the stories that make us strong. Let’s live our own story! Protect what matters - our democracy.

Good point! I saw a story about a guy being murdered in Leeds, but i looked out my window and couldn't see any a dead body. OK, maybe he was actually murdered, but he was personally was less than 1% of the popualtion, so what was all the fuss about?!

This type of derrangement needs to be studied....
I don’t blame immigrants specifically, although some would have been involved. No, I blame the hard right for introducing violence and destruction to an otherwise legitimate nationwide protest. Is Le Penn behind a Trumpian January 6th Capitol riot I ask myself?

Im glad this "queer socialist" has finally clicked that islamists will destroy the heritage of ALL countries, not just western European ones. Well done!
I’d you’re shocked at the damage in France to an old town hall you’ll be horrified to hear what’s happened to the beautiful old buildings and heritage of the Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans

*watches well documented far left riot" "Hmm... must be the far right!"
It doesn’t make sense that protests over the education system would escalate into this level of violence. Someone may be benefiting from the chaos. It could be far-right groups infiltrating the protests, setting things on fire to fuel the “deport immigrants” narrative. Or it could be the government itself, using the violence as a pretext to crack down on the protests and avoid addressing the protesters’ demands. Either way, we should be asking who stands to gain from this escalation. I don’t know I’m just not buying people becoming this violent just to “have a better education.” 🤨
