BREAKING: Iran has now officially lifted its self-imposed 2,000-km range limit on ballistic missiles, potentially bringing European capitals and distant U.S. bases within reach, per the AP.
IRGC spokesman Brig. Gen. Hossein Mohebbi said the restriction is “removed for us,” following Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s directive for responses “without geographical limitations.”
Iran’s Khorramshahr can potentially reach 3,000 km with a lighter payload, while a reported 2026 missile launch toward Diego Garcia suggested a possible 4,000-km reach. With the self-imposed cap now gone, Tehran says its missile range is no longer geographically restricted.
