Today we joined thousands of New Yorkers to demand Congress make this victory count!

My @SEIU family.
Y'all showed up with so much heart, courage, and LOVE. I am in awe of you. Every single day.
There is no movement I'd rather be a part of, and no people I'd rather fight alongside. ✊🏾

Following Democrats’ victory in taking back Congress, 32BJ joined New Jersey’s congressional leaders and our labor and community allies in Newark with a clear message: working people helped deliver this victory. Now Congress must deliver for them. ✊🏽
We stood alongside Representatives Analilia Mejia (@repanalilia), LaMonica McIver (@replamonica), Rob Menendez (@repmenendez), Frank Pallone (@repfrankpallone), and Congressman-elect Adam Hamawy (@hamawyfornj).

Congratulations to New York Governor @KathyHochul on your re-election!
When SEIU members set our minds on something, we GET. IT. DONE. Working people from around the country motivated each other to show up at the polls in demand of money, power, and respect. And guess what? WE DID. From the doors, to phones, to community events and rallies, we got it done!

In the aftermath of election results Wednesday, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said watching the success Democrats had across the country was “incredible.”
“It’s a new dawn in America. It’s a new day in America. And I cannot wait to see what we do with this opportunity because it is now one that we must deliver on,” he said.

NEW: Hakeem Jeffries says neither he nor Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer has heard from President Trump following Democrats' sweeping midterm victories.
"I look forward to talking to Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats when we convene next week and charting a path forward to bring about the type of dramatic change the American people are clearly demanding."

Governor @KathyHochul and I are ready to get to work because we know that what unites us is far greater than what divides us. Just like New Yorkers do every day, we’ll find common ground, listen, and work together to deliver.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, of Brooklyn, celebrated what he called an "American tsunami" Wednesday after Democrats swept the midterm elections.
Speaking at a Capitol Hill press conference, Jeffries said the midterm election results were a "stunning rebuke of MAGA extremism."
“It wasn't simply a blue wave. It was an American tsunami,” Jeffries said.
Jeffries projected that Democrats would win at least 255 House seats and cited the party’s gains in gubernatorial races and the Senate.
"It was a great victory for the American people," Jeffries said.
Jeffries would make history as the first Black speaker of the House if his colleagues elect him to the job when the new Congress begins on Jan. 3, 2027.

We woke up this morning to a resounding Democratic majority. Now, let's use it to protect our neighbors.
As @jamestalarico so powerfully stated in his speech last night, love is not weak: It’s putting our bodies on the line between the bullies and the bullied. That’s why people have shown up on the streets of Minneapolis, in our neighborhoods, at the polls, and at 26 Federal Plaza — where I was back this morning.
Let’s get to work.
