I’m blessed by my Dad, Ken Authier, who instilled in me early on important values like faith, hard work, and doing what’s right when nobody is looking. He wasn’t one to preach on these things, but he woke up every day, put on his uniform, and lived it.

What a great day listening to several stakeholders around HD10.
First, a great meet and greet with the Unite Ellis military community at the Red Oak Chamber.
And then at Doves Nest with some wonderful and wise ladies! Thankful for their willingness to share and let me listen.
It’s time to Make HD10 Great Again! Today’s total lack of preparation and grandstanding on the only bill @brianeharrison has laid out before a committee, sealed the deal. Time for rightful representation for the people of HD10 in the #txlege
Wow. Listening to a full day of the PublicEd committee hearing without @brianeharrison in the room, gathering video clips for his next post, was quite refreshing. Grown ups actually asked great questions and respected the input of those testifying for and against the bill.
Half truth @brianeharrison is using NAEP scores to degrade scores for 8th graders. NAEP is from the department of education, an agency he has called for dissolution of many times! They use common core for curriculum! I think he googles “what report is bad for public schools.”

In a season where political yard signs and flags can bring anger and resentment, we are being encouraged to love our neighbor and be kind. Hard stuff, but good stuff.
Oh look it’s just under three hours later, @brianeharrison finished his prepared comments, and then goes back to tweeting. Big word, big word, vomit something about 8th grade math scores, back to twitter to see who liked his post.

Parents are in charge! Independent school districts are the best model of local gov’t, or maybe they were, until state mandates and unrealistic accountability measures were imposed and tied to funding. Are those same measures going to apply to private schools with public dollars?

Retired teacher pay increases just passed by 84%! That means Texas loves its public schools, and understand the heroic jobs our teachers day everyday. Yet @brianeharrison and his circus clowns refuse to accept to the truth! Fully fund Public Ed!
