Unfortunately, academic inflation and toxic productivity culture has all but done away with this. The effects of this on science advancement will be seen for generations. Slowing down and thinking deeply is essential to solve complex problems and it’s undervalued at every level.

So grateful @HeatherDavisPhD & I had the opportunity to write this commentary. We argue self-compassion should be *directly* targeted in ED treatment & propose increasing self-compassion @ treatment start & then reinforcing throughout could have durable, transdiagnostic effects

If your child is diagnosed with an eating disorder while you’re dieting, please STOP.
Not because your diet caused their eating disorder but because healing from an eating disorder is hard enough without the people closest to you engaging in restriction.

Really excited to share this article that I co-authored with @HannahJCory, @m_simonephd, Tricia Alexander & Safiya McHale. We argue that widely-used ED measures likely perpetuate & widen disparities & call for more inclusive tools to advance equity in EDs. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…

We know that anti-fat bias hurts people's health in so many ways. And there are no illnesses that affect only people in larger bodies.
So why don't we see weight stigma as the disease rather than fatness?

False dichotomizing of ob*sity medicine as ⚡️science⚡️ vs HAES/weight inclusive practice as 😥feelings😥 needs to stop. Not only does #HAES have hella research backing, the other side relies on inconclusive&messy science that often fails to support its blatant fatphobic beliefs😘

I just want to note, how Black folks who have long been advocates of civil and human rights, are now being targeted, doxxed, harassed, fired, threatened and physically attacked for being advocates for civil and human rights.
We advocate for a sick world to heal and it attempts to eradicate us in response.
