But we are 100% self sufficient in Liz Trusses.
Rishi Sunak telling the National Farmers Union Conference that the UK is only 40 per cent self sufficient in lettuce. Seems harsh. Some of our lettuces are surprisingly resilient.

Last year I wrote this on refugee policy: "This is what happens when you normalise the unthinkable. First it becomes thinkable. Then sayable. Then ‘desirable’, ‘the only option’, ‘common sense’. Once out there, it cannot be unthought, unsaid, unnormalised". THREAD

"The suffragettes are the largest domestic terror organisation who ever operated on British soil, they have no equivalent" @FernRiddell Worth remembering this every time a JSO protestor temporarily annoys some sports fans. bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/65902…

Because they are the international lender of last resort & exist to promote international economic stability. Responsible governments recalibrate fiscal policy according to forecasts (see also OBR) & so hopefully avoid some of the predicted problems, necessitating new forecasts.
Why didn’t the IMF warn the UK about the fast inflation before it happened? Why do they keep changing their forecasts? Why do some in politics and the media take their forecasts so seriously?

Quote of the day: "Most developed countries have some poor places. The UK has a poor three-quarters. If you concentrate all the economic activity in the bottom right-hand corner, the economy as a whole will suffer."

Just remember, if the Rebellion can come for Palpatine, they will come for you. What's next, prosecuting Darth Vader for killing a few Younglings, or Tarkin for blowing up ONE measly planet? Where will this woke madness end???

Dear Free @SpeechUnion, I’ve been waiting in all day for you to pop round to defend Gary Lineker, but you don’t seem to have shown up. Can you let me know when this will happen please?

This is really important!
Reactionary serial poster Ian Miles Cheong has shared a misleading clip about Humza Yousaf from June 2020. The missing context: Yousaf is making a speech about racial injustice and inequality after the death of George Floyd. Full remarks: parliament.scot/chamber-and-…

A lot of people have asked me my views of the leadership contest. Truthfully, I have been incredibly hurt so far. Hurt originating with the statements @_KateForbes has made and since stood by. I, like most people in Scotland, could not care less about someone’s religion. (1/10)

Ballot Box Scotland has today issued an extraordinary statement pointing out the "Indian Council of Scotland" is one random guy with a Facebook Page and the "Muslim Council of the United Kingdom" is not the Muslim Council of Britain, and this leadership contest has rotted brains.

The BBC have branded Prince Harry's new memoir Spare "The weirdest book ever written by a royal". Which is a great excuse to tell you that in 1597 King James VI & I published the Daemonologie, a book on necromancy, black magic, and how to find, test, and punish witches.

There’s a Ukrainian folksong that you know. Except that you don’t know that it’s Ukrainian, and a folksong. The world-known Carol of the Bells was actually composed by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1904 based on a song about a swallow euromaidanpress.com/2015/01/…

If you want all the feel-good of a good holiday movie condensed down to two and a half minutes, just trust me and watch this. Warning: you may experience positive feelings for the Washington Commanders franchise which is going to be weird for some of you.

If Scotland is dependent on the consent of a UK government that has a track record of breaking international law, then we are not free to pursue our own self-determination and held hostage by people incapable of respecting democracy.

Well, it's official. Scotland (and, by extension Wales) are occupied territories now, denied the legal right to self-determinism. #indyref2
