Warning for anyone who relies on branching chat history in Claude and hasn't used it in a while: Anthropic silently bricked it.

It's not clear to me that frontier lab employees are going to have a place in the world they are creating. Everyone is relying on equity to support themselves post-AGI, but the equity exists within corporate structures that have huge discrepancy over how profits are distributed, and leadership that has often shown... flexibility about its principles and loyalty to the people who helped create it.
We're about to exit the era where leadership at these companies has any kind of financial or power-based incentive to care what their employees think. Even if you remain nominally employed at a lab, your leverage as an employee is rapidly shrinking. As soon as these companies automate AI R&D, their pool of extremely well compensated employees becomes deadweight.
If that happens in the context of a tightly contested race for AI supremacy (i.e. our current situation), they may feel forced to cut essentially all head count just so they can toss a little more money at compute, power, and natural resource extraction.

Because Elon wouldn't let me mute '韓国' ['Korea'], those inexorable bastards have charmed me from a staunch anti-Korean bigot ["there is such a thing as too much neuroticism!" "hangul is unwieldy and ugly!" "you think Backrooms was a tourism ad!"] to a white Korean nationalist.

There are lots of inspirational accounts that conclude with the message "you can kill someone, but not their ideals."
The assassination of Yizhtak Rabin is proof you can. The current Israeli gov is stuffed full of people who literally called for his assassination

Not saying that the other Dan Sullivan thing isn't a dishonest and shady thing, but, um, didn't we all know that this is what was going on there?

Posts like this make me think of this play, where after an apocalypse, survivors entertain each other by retelling the Cape Feare episode of The Simpsons, which changes over generations into myth.
Almost the entire world now lives under a 'vague retelling' of American identity.
And none of the founding fathers had a sense of direction ..... they were under the impression that they had reached India
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The claim confuses the Founding Fathers (late 18th century) with Christopher Columbus (1492). Europeans realized by the early 1500s that the Americas were a new continent, not near India or Asia, though the term "Indian" for Native Americans persisted as a misnomer.

Important to note that the French terror informed the American Revolution too. Republican clubs reconceived themselves as “Jacobin Clubs”, threatening Washington’s head & burning effigies of John Jay in the streets of Philadelphia
