Be clear what this is: A senior DUP politician wants to collapse the govt cause an extremist Protestant group wasn’t able to parade through a Catholic area in a majority Protestant town. Supremacist thinking recognised for what it is the world over.

A Republican parade on the Shankill Rd, thru Markethill, Comber & the Edgarstown estate would be violently opposed by unionism today. Should that raise questions about such liberties in the UK today, or is it just common sense? I’d say most believe the latter, whether UK or UI.

Jon Burrows has just described Garvaghy Rd residents by saying “They’re the most unreasonable of the unreasonable,” unchallenged by BBC host. He would never depict unionist communities in a similarly derogatory manner for simply opposing Republican parades through their areas.

PSNI conduct in this has been alarming. It’s beyond belief they didn’t inform Parades Commission of the potential for disorder. There needs to be a thorough investigation into who made the assessment, how & why they did so given toxic & murderous history of the Drumcree campaign.
