Either way patients shouldn't pay the price keep every record usable, make certification transparent & plan the switch together.

.@KELINKenya, alongside fellow civil society organizations, have today issued an advisory calling upon the Government of Kenya and relevant oversight institutions to put in place proactive measures to safeguard public resources mobilized for Ebola preparedness and response.
Drawing lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic, we emphasise the need for transparency in resource allocation and expenditure, accountability in emergency procurement, effective institutional oversight, and meaningful community participation. Preparedness and response efforts must also uphold human rights and ensure equitable access to services, particularly for vulnerable and marginalised populations.

As the world commemorates #WorldFoodDay2026, the theme “Innovate today, nourish tomorrow” deeply resonates with @KELINKenya. With partners, we are pushing for innovations like front-of-pack warning labels (FOPWL), so people can access food information that is useful for nourishment.
To pursue this theme, we developed a simplified version of the Kenya Nutrient Profile Model (KNPM). It gives simple, verifiable information on the nutrients we consume when we eat ultra-processed packaged foods.
This tool is for everyone as we work to reduce NCDs in Kenya and protect our children from predatory marketing.

.@KELINKenya is honored to participate in the 87th session of the @ACHPR in Banjul, Gambia- celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the Adoption of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights under the African Union theme: “Year of Water Sustainability: Assuring Sustainable Water Availability & Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”
Addressing the Commission this morning, @MilimuElsie drew attention to the lived realities of women and girls across our continent attempting to access clean water, highlighting the indivisibility of their right to water security and reproductive health rights.
She called upon African Union Member States to:
✅Reaffirm that access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene is an essential enabler of the right to health and reproductive rights,
✅Prioritize integrated investments in WASH and SRHR systems,
✅Strengthen accountability mechanisms during state reporting, and encourage increased domestic financing for both health and water systems, in line with the Abuja Declaration and States’ obligations under regional human rights instruments.

We are pleased to share that @KELINKenya has been appointed to the @MOH_Kenya's Food Environment Policies Steering Committee.
This appointment builds on several years of close collaboration with the Ministry and other stakeholders to strengthen Kenya’s nutrition and public health policy framework. Our work has focused on ensuring that emerging food environment regulations are not only evidence-based, but also firmly grounded in the Constitution, particularly the right to health under Article 43.
As our Executive Director @MalecheAllan often reminds us: Food policy is health policy.
