🇷🇸 🚨 BREAKING: Serbia's Aleksandar Vučić has conceded defeat to the student-led movement that has spent nearly two years in the streets trying to oust him. "Based on the sample, it is clear that we have lost these elections," Vučić said at his party's headquarters. He put the Student List at about 2.2 million votes to 1.72 million for his bloc. That works out to 130 to 140 of parliament's 250 seats, a clear majority. Official results are pending. Vučić has ruled Serbia as prime minister or president since 2014. In that time his party took over state institutions, and he was accused of muzzling critical media. He resigned the presidency last month to run for prime minister. The movement erupted in November 2024, after a newly renovated train station canopy collapsed in Novi Sad, Serbia's second-largest city, and killed 16 people. Students blamed corruption and rallied behind the cry "Pumpaj," Serbian for "pump it," meaning keep up the pressure.

REPORT | Tens of thousands of people from across Serbia are marching to Belgrade for what is expected to be a massive demonstration against the government of President Aleksandar Vučić. Serbia has seen sustained, almost daily, protests for months since November when a train station roof collapsed in the second largest city Novi Sad, killing 15 people. Protesters have blamed rampant corruption for the disaster and since then the protests have swelled with many demanding the resignation of the government, which they denounce as a fundamentally corrupt institution. Vučić has vowed to use force against the protesters in Belgrade tonight and groups of his supporters have also taken up positions in Belgrade, raising fears of violent clashes. Journalist Dušan Čavic (@sedamdeseti) co-host of the popular YouTube show @MarkaZvaka, is covering the demonstration for Drop Site. VIDEO: Protesters chanting “Pumpaj!” (“Pump it up!”) as they march from New Belgrade (Novi Beograd) to the center of Belgrade.

With three-quarters of voting centers tallied, Lula has the lead (around 2M votes) over far-right Flavio Bolsonaro. However, this time the Bolsonaro-heavy São Paulo State and Bolsonaro-leaning Rio de Janeiro are among the last to report. Not for the faint of heart

Symbol of the night so far: Minas Gerais is typically presented as THE swing state. It voted for Lula by 0.4% in 2022 runoff; then, swung to Bolsonaro, who won it 48% to 43% in round 1. A third of precincts have been counted so far, & results have been 50.0-50.0 for a while.

This will leave a lasting impression on Hochul and she’s going to tell her allies about it. This, combined with Obama rallying with Abdul and celebrating his call to move beyond the ACA toward Medicare for All, marks a real turning point for the party.

I think this election is going to reflect a massive backlash against maga but imagine what Democrats could achieve if they were running nationwide on a transformative economic agenda.

ABC's White House correspondent David Alandete claims the Trump administration ultimately acquiesced to Machado's return following pressure from Latin American allies and the Florida caucus xitter.cf/alandete/status/211439…

For the second time today, Israel has bombed a university in Gaza, just as students were finally returning to their classrooms after months of devastation. Many students and university staff have been killed or injured. Israel is determined to destroy even that hope, continuing its systematic destruction of education in Gaza.

Emma Vigeland's highlights the EPSTEIN connection to Florida GOP lawyers after reacting to Jim DeFede exposing Ashley Moody: She's passing the buck to other agencies, even though she was attorney general at the time Many lawyers from Florida have been rewarded for their criminality. Pam Bondi helped cover up the Epstein files. Alex Acosta signed off on the sweetheart deal for Epstein. Now Ashley Moody, as Drop Site reported—she is getting a bunch of money from people very closely associated with Epstein.
CBS News Miami reporter Jim DeFede EXPOSES Ashley Moody Jim plays audio from a rare interview Moody gave this week on the radio and comments: "That is what is commonly referred to as WORD SALAD. I'm not sure what she said, but I am certain she never answered Manny's question. So, his question remains. What did Ashley Moody know and when did she know it?"

.@SenBrianSchatz says that if Democrats take the Senate, the party's left wing needs to be strategic about not proposing things "that the president of the United States is guaranteed to veto." "If we want to be more aspirational, if we want to make more bold policy changes... that's for 2028."
