Congratulations to my friend @LulaOficial on his electoral victory. Democracy and multilateralism have won in Brazil. Europe’s partnership with Brazil is thriving. We will remain by your side for the years to come. Together we will keep working closely for free and open trade. A rules-based global order. And strong ambitions for our climate.

My issue in the Ukraine war debate was never the humanitarian argument. Arguing that this conflict must end for the sake of not shredding the whole young to middle-aged generation of Ukrainian men is not a wrong thing to say. At all. The issue with it is misinterpreting who's got the lever to make that happen. The longest one is in the Kremlin. The second longest in the White House, the third longest in the EU+NATO. It's not on Ukraine to make that happen - except for agreeing to talks and engaging in initiatives by the latter 2. I do not see that this isn't happening. What I see though is that Russia/Putin is constantly sabotaging ANY trial to end this war - simply because he has not achieved his goals. Yet. Which brings me back to the humanitarian argument - and this is going to get some major disagreement: This SOLELY applies to Ukranians for me. I have no empathy with Russia - or Russians for that matter. This nation has a track record of being internationally divisive and evil for as long as I can think - and that probably 3,4,5 or 10x. It has enabled a communist dictatorship on German Soil for 40 years - while Western Germany could become a successfull nation integrated in the West and into the heart of Europe. Stalin was completely happy to invade Poland together with Hitler, and starve his own population to death. Satellite Sovjet states have always suffered under Russian influence. And now we're in the age of Putin trying to reconstruct this historic monster form it's rotten ashes. Humanity would make a step forward if Russia were to disappear - simple as that. I DO NOT care about Russian lives. I really do not. All I care about is that Ukrainians can finally live in peace without threats, and Europa at large as well for that matter. So yes, try to end this war. Absolutely. The killing must stop. BUT: Russia must pay for it, big time. DO NOT let them off the hook.

I mean I get some part of the controversy, but people that call for a 'nationalization' of Starlink or SpaceX need to realize that this is a synonym for something called a 'deorbit button'. And I sure as hell hope no state on earth - or the universe for that matter - ever is in possession of such a system.

The middle hill used to be true somewhat for a span of like 6-12 months. The current frontier models require significantly less steering. Steering them too much actually causes problems. What still holds true is that a good ruleset significantly reduces Token cost and increases speed. E.g. Claude is still incredibly bad at automatically saving tests for re-use and the amount of repeated epic-long bash-prompt and Python snippets is staggering if you do not tell it: this is going to be a process we will be iterating on, save the tests in a suite so we can be sure as we progress stuff doesn't regress. This is something that e.g. Codex is absolutely superb at.

Sorry to say but this is just plain corruption.
"Mercedes-Benz first to bring point-to-point driving to Germany" 🇩🇪 What is going on in Germany? Tesla has been fighting for European FSD approval for years. Meanwhile, Mercedes just announced that they will be the “first” to bring point-to-point driving to Germany with their MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO, rolling out at the end of 2026 to select customers, and nation-wide in Q1 2027. Could this explain why Germany appears reluctant to grant national approval, while Bilger keeps pushing for the European route — which, conveniently, isn't expected to be finalized until Q1? PR Photo: Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at at the “Invest in Germany Summit”. Same SAE level. Very different welcome. 🤔 group.mercedes-benz.com/tech…

Given the ramp numbers and trajectory of Robotaxis in the Tesla earnings deck it's 1-2 quarters max for Waymo to tell their investors where their additional cars will come from. And they will have no answer because they objectively cannot have one. That one's going to get REALLY interesting.

Leaving this here, PHP 8.5.12 security patch is incomplete. ( needs further validation )
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The PHP 8.5.12 release fixes the two specific CVEs (via state/bailout changes) detailed in official advisories; referenced "surviving paths" (e.g. var_destroy UAF) are separate pre-existing unserialize issues unrelated to this patch. php.net/archive/2026.p… github.com/php/php-src/se… github.com/php/php-src/se… github.com/dinosn/php-8.5…
