Add .contentTransition(.numericText()) to a Text, and numbers roll to their new value instead of jumping.

A stepped SwiftUI `Slider` finally shows its steps on iOS 26. When you use `step: 1`, SwiftUI adds a tick mark for every possible value. You don't need to draw them yourself.

A lot of folks getting into game dev with ai don’t know this but, you really need to make sure your game is fun without a bunch of fancy art. Llms make it too easy to build visually rich levels with no real gameplay. That’s backwards!
Early footage of Star Wars Galactic Racer. Man I love seeing stuff like this, even before a lot of the 'star wars' stuff came in, this already looked like a blast. Such a fun game.

Found something funny when reading Tailscale code. They use a Cyrillic letter "ж" (reads as "zh") for the variable which shouldn't be exposed to callers and mutated. This is an artificial barrier for human devs that should raise concerns when trying to type it. Apparently it looks like an asterisk meaning it's a pointer. But for me it's a familiar letter which I didn't expect to see in the code and was like Ж? WAT? Yeah, you can use unicode letters in Go code if you want. I now really want to use something like that in my code because I bet it'll make me smile every time I see it

Sounds like they got quite close to the original on their first attempt.

NFC, or near-field communication, is a family of short-range wireless standards that operate at 13.56MHz radio frequencies. It’s a specific branch of radio frequency identification, or RFID. You use it every day you pay with contactless, Apple Pay, or even download an App Clip! NFC is very useful for reading and writing low-bandwidth information at centimetre-scale, i.e. deliberate, range. But NFC doesn’t just use the device radio. And it works even if one partner is un-powered. It does something genius, using Faraday’s law of induction. Get it? Right, for those that don’t have their second-year electromagnetism course fresh in their mind, this law basically shows that you can generate an electric current, at a distance, by moving a magnetic field through a coil. It’s only how the global power grid works. In an NFC interaction, the powered reader/writer produces a changing magnetic field that produces a voltage across a wire coil in the passive NFC tag. This drives a current and powers the chip, allowing it to accept a signal and read/write data. This magnetic field, as well as oscillating at the 13.56MHz NFC frequency, also encodes information in its amplitude, so powering and writing happen simultaneously! Now let’s take a look at how to implement NFC in your own apps using CoreNFC. Learn how iOS talks to your hardware in “NFC, BLE, UWB, WTF?!” 🧐 blog.jacobstechtavern.com/p/…

Built a fully customisable pixel dot loader system using #SwiftUI. You can tweak the pixel size, trail, motion, colors, and a bunch of other controls, and see everything update live. Play around with it here: withanimation.app/library/pi… Lemme know what you think. #iOSDevelopment

Coworker today asked me if I use a separate chrome profile on my work computer for personal. My response: "My dude. My work computer goes in a faraday cage at the end of each day. There is no personal shit on there."
