wtf
this guy just had Claude Sonnet 5 perform brain surgery on a living mouse
the goal was to treat the mouse's epilepsy so it would stop having so many seizures.
here's what Claude did:
> it looked at 19 possible treatments and picked one that boosts the brain's natural calming chemical
> it chose where to inject it based on where these seizures are thought to start
> it worked out the exact injection point by averaging three research papers
> it lowered the needle 4.3 millimeters into the mouse's brain
> it injected a 20,000th of a teaspoon of the treatment over five minutes
> it checked the live camera 32 times to watch for things like bleeding
and the mouse woke up and recovered well!
interestingly, Opus 5.5 and Opus 5 both refused the task because it involved real biology
so Sonnet 5 got the job.
and as far as the researcher knows it's the first time an AI has picked a treatment and then injected it into the brain of a living mammal.

I'm not kidding when I say this but guy single-handedly convinced me to go all in on AI simply because he's so ugly and dysgenic that I can not see myself ever holding the same views as him.
study the pure NE :(
“We can’t slow down because China will beat us.”
We can slow down. Chinese AI is waterskiing behind the US. Their AI capabilities come at a delay since they mainly come from distilling US AIs. If we slow down, they slow down.
Next, we can propose to cooperate and make this more robust with onsite inspectors. “We will slow down if you do too.” This is incentive-compatible for China. If both sides are slowed by roughly the same factor, while the risk of losing control of our AIs is reduced, then this does not really harm China’s competitiveness but it makes them safer. It’s incentive-compatible, and @elonmusk is possibly best positioned to lead US-China negotiations.
Then, if China refuses to slowdown and safeguard their future AIs, there are a variety of measures we could take. To get an agreement, the US can apply typical forms of negotiation pressure. The US could also disrupt their AIs (e.g., backdoor models by poisoning pretraining data, many other possibilities at aibetrayal.com) that could interfere with their AI development or deployment if they were uncooperative.
Begin with unilateral restraint, then propose to cooperate. If that fails, consider measures to counteract them.
A US-China slowdown is possible.
Introducing Moe: the stock market for your stuff
Selling used to mean picking one marketplace and hoping — @eBay, @depop, @facebook, @stockx — each with different buyers and different prices. No one saw the whole market. You just guessed.
Moe is the home that connects all marketplaces, so every item has one real, live price.
How it works:
1.Scan any item
2.Moe identifies it — make, model, specs
3.See its real-time value across every marketplace, like a stock ticker
4.Sell it everywhere at once — Moe does all the work for you. seriously… all of it
@moeapp is opening an invite-code public beta today (link in the comments)
