Gen Z is the least religious generation we've ever polled. Today, about 36% of them say that they believe in God without a doubt. When Gen X was asked that same question when they were they same age as Gen Z now, 57% were certain of God's existence.

The suspect in the shootout with the National Guard over the weekend has been charged in federal court. Notably, Jerrell Jackson was originally arrested on charges including assault on law enforcement and D.C. police said he shot the soldier. But new court filings don't contain any such charge and stop short of saying Jackson was the one who fired the shot that struck the guardsman. dc.citycast.fm/public-safety…

Pew asked parents how well they prepared their children for adult life. Then they asked adult children how well their parents prepared them. The biggest gap between those two groups was among evangelicals. The smallest gap was among atheists and "other religion"

A 78-year-old Ugandan pastor the @washingtonpost wrote about in July was released today after 13 months in ICE detention. Edward Nalwamba lost 35 lbs in detention and can no longer walk unassisted. washingtonpost.com/religion/…
This is 78-year-old Pastor Edward Nalwamba. He fled persecution in Uganda for his pro-democracy beliefs and has spent decades living and preaching in America. ICE detained him for 13 months. Today, ahead of his release, our staff visited the detention facility and asked GEO staff to let him call his caretakers and provide a wheelchair to get him to his ride home. He cannot walk. GEO staff assured us they would do both. They failed to deliver on either. No phone call. No wheelchair. No human decency. There is no excuse for this cruelty. None. While we are celebrating Pastor Nalwamba’s release, we will not stop holding those responsible for this accountable. (Photo courtesy of Joy Athanasiou, attorney for Pastor Edward Nalwamba)
