Proud of you kid 🧡@NicoOttomanelli
This is so awesome😎 I love my Alma Mater!! 🐻⬇️ No one was buying us shots at Dirtbags during the desert swarm era 😆
After Arizona’s win over Iowa State, Brent Brennan stopped at Dirtbag’s and bought around 300 shots of tequila (a $2,000 bar tab) for UA fans and alumni in town for Homecoming.
Brennan paid the tab and walked out.
Brennan, on buying a round for Arizona fans at Dirtbag's: "I think it's important that if you want people to show up for you, you have to show up for them. ... It was an expensive five minutes, but it was a good five minutes."

Gracelyn Laudermilch submitted a letter to Judge Wilken yesterday describing the human cost of roster limits and how the promised protections of DSA status have proved illusory for her and many others. Many of you will remember Gracelyn as one of the faces of the athletes fighting to keep their roster spots. Now, she writes that she has lost hers at Liberty—even with DSA status. I’m truly saddened by this. I’ve gotten to know Gracelyn, and she is an incredible young woman and a leader who has stood up for countless athletes beyond herself. Any track programs out there should consider reaching out to her. She has so much to offer, on and off the track.

The best football teams are internally motivated not externally motivated. Externally motivated football teams are up and down every single week. Internally motivated teams have a standard of excellence and they are consistent in their habits every day and it translates to wins on the field.

Just hold a door! @ChiColeman23 and @nevaehcoleman22 were destined for greatness. And the blessings of being their mom is endless. It’s never lost on @mc2brew and I the power of love.
When Malachi Coleman was five years old, his mother left him and his two year old sister at a stranger's house.
She said she would be back.
He plays wide receiver for Wisconsin now, and he has never seen her again.
His father had already died. So at five, Malachi became the person responsible for keeping his sister Nevaeh alive.
They went into foster care in Nebraska. They lived in three different homes. He was abused in the system.
Then a couple named Craig and Miranda Coleman heard something at church and decided to become foster parents. They planned to take one child at a time.
At the end of their licensing class, the agency asked whether they would consider two siblings who were about to be separated from each other.
They thought about it for a couple of weeks and said yes.
The kids started coming on weekends in October 2014. They moved in that January. On November 20, 2015, Craig and Miranda adopted both of them.
Here is what Craig said about the boy who showed up.
"He was a broken kid."
Miranda said he lived for today and only today. Malachi says he was mean and selfish and would not do one kind thing for anybody.
So one day Miranda argued with him about it for an hour.
And at the end of it she did not ask him to become a good person. She asked him to hold a door open for one person. One door. One stranger. That was all.
He has not stopped since. He holds doors for everybody now, and he will tell you that kindness is the thing he cares about most.
When Nebraska started letting high school athletes earn money off their names, Malachi Coleman put his into a burrito at a local restaurant and sent a cut of it to the foster care system. He runs a foundation now that works to get kids out of foster care and into permanent homes.
The football is almost the small part.
He was a top 60 recruit out of Lincoln East and he stayed home and signed with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. It did not work. Eight catches as a freshman, then shoulder surgery, then nothing. He transferred to Minnesota and barely played there either.
Three seasons. Thirteen catches.
This year Wisconsin took him, because a coach who had him at Minnesota vouched for him. In his first game he caught four passes for 76 yards and a touchdown against Notre Dame, which was more than he gained in all of last season. Last weekend he caught a 46 yard touchdown against Michigan State.
He says he faked his confidence until it became real.
He got that line from his mother.
A woman once sat and argued with a furious, broken kid for an hour, and then asked him to hold one door open for one stranger.
Here is what he says now.
"I see myself as wanted."

Sam Houston State leads the nation in growth, up 172% from last season when they played at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.
Through two home games, @BearkatsFB's attendance is still up over 18% compared to 2024 and over 66% above their five-year average.

I get asked very, very often now from college kids for advice, about my path to Snapback, what they can do to break into sports, etc
The first answer I always give is that work ethic is a skill you can sharpen. It can be practiced, improved, and it matters. When you’re very young and new to a job, it is often the most important skill you can showcase.
This is a great way to summarize what I tell kids all the time. Do the stuff that sucks, and do it well. It almost always pays off in the long run.
Every young person in America should read @mattyglesias's essay today. slowboring.com/p/feed-the-li…

@KPRC2RandyMc very frustrating when you have a player from NJ whose family can’t be there in person to see their nephew/grandson do his job and the announcer can’t get his name right not once 😢 the play by play stats weren’t correct either.
