‘Obi instrumental to erosion control’
thenationonlineng.net/obi-in…
A former Minister of Environment, Mr. John Odey, has said former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi was instrumental to the creation of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).
Under the project, the World Bank will finance the control and management of erosion in some states.
The former minister recalled how Obi almost single-handedly pushed for the project, even when his colleagues were lukewarm.
Odey spoke yesterday in Abuja at the official launch of the project at the Transcorps Hilton.
He urged communities to key in into the project. The World Bank Country Director Marie Francois Marie-Nelly said there was need to seriously tackle erosion in Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Edo and Cross River states.
She called for ownership and domestication of the project, especially in the affected states.
The World Bank chief hailed those implementing the project for their innovation, which emphasises reclamation and control.
Marie-Nelly said: “I have visited Edo and Anambra states. Under Peter Obi, I was pleased with his commitment, which he demonstrated by being the first to pay the state’s counterpart funds of N500 million for the project. Ebonyi, Cross River and Imo states have also paid theirs.”
Environment Minister Mrs Laurentia Mallam said erosion had caused havoc in several states and deprived the people of arable land.

ME:😂😂
Never remain silent in rooms where people declare that “your vote does not count.” Challenge that defeatist mentality. Remind them that their votes matter, that 2027 presents another opportunity to reclaim our country from those destroying it, and that no nation has ever been rescued by citizens who surrendered before the battle began.

"The Anambra State Government has attributed some of the road failures reported across the state to underground water pressure, saturated soil and unusually heavy rainfall, rather than necessarily to poor construction materials.
Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arc. Okey Ezeobi, gave the explanation while addressing concerns over damaged road sections, particularly along flood-prone corridors".
For the first time in my life, I am ashamed to be from Anambra State.

What INEC released to Nigerians is not a voters register. It is a carefully manipulated register with the only objective of ensuring 2027 elections are rigged.
INEC Chairman Amupitan must resign.

"The SW governors used to meet for the betterment of the SW but SE governors didn't because they are have their own personal agenda.
But after Peter Obi entered Ebonyi state where it was believed that Umahi had under control, and he pulled such crowd, Soludo became worried and called for an emergency meeting of SE governors.
Only Otti did not attend.
Soludo is positioning for the VP position in 2031. Umahi is positioning for the VP position in 2031. Hope is positioning for Senate president. Mbah is also positioning for VP 2031 so if Peter Obi enters now it will destroy their personal ambitions.
It was the Oni of Ife that called Peter Obi a Tsunami. Peter Obi never called himself a Tsunami. A leader doesn't call himself a leader, it is the people that will call him a leader.
So when you hear Umahi call himself the lion of South-East just know that he is a lizard."

I love these videos. Whoever is making them should keep them coming. This is oke thing I've prayed and hoped that Nigerians will learn: the power of many.
Election integrity is enforced by the people. Your civic duty doesn't end with casting your vote; you must also protect it.
Your vote belongs to you, not Peter Obi.
Voting and going home in Nigeria is akin to going in at night and leaving your doors open in a rough neighbourhood; YOU WILL BE ROBBED!
Your civic responsibility starts with picking up your voters card, continues with casting your vote, and ends with protecting your vote up to collation level.
Nigerians, let 2023 not repeat itself. "Rig and die" should be an action, not just words.

It seems quite clear that @inecnigeria has chosen #CoverUp & complicity over disclosure & transparency in this matter of the corruption of the voters register for #NigeriaDecides2027.
The Commission now claims this is the work of a few rogue Registration Officers "out in the field". It does not even pretend to take or treat the matter serious.
The Commission had claimed it was investigating. It did not say how. It has not revealed its methodology or process.
Now it has announced its conclusion with no outcomes: how extensive was the corruption? Where are the affected places? How many such fake entries are we looking at? How do they propose to lustrate those responsible from involvement with the process going forward & ensure that the register is credible.
None of this has been disclosed. And it does not appear as if any of this bothers the Commission.
But the most concerning thing is really not the possibility that #INEC is acting with the insouciance of a criminal organisation. Rather it is the indifference of the political parties & their almost resigned lack of attention to this.
Perhaps it is me but I find it incredulous that the political parties fielding candidates in the election have chosen to abandon indignation on this matter to citizens who simply want a credible vote.
Something is not right & I am trying to figure out what it is.

Peter Obi is a very naive politician.
He had all the time - 4 years - to be an alliance with the North but he messed it up.
How can you contest for President without the support of grassroots political leader from the North? It's not possible.
Instead, Peter Obi went to Abagana and picked Kwankwaso.
Went to Isiochi and picked Buba Galadima.
Added Babachir Lawal from Okigwe.
Onboarded Gawuna who's from Afikpo.
And he's working with Binani who's from Elele.
This is really ridiculous. He ought to have built a coalition with the North. 😥
Peter Obi will not stop at the airport to address you people, talk about how there is no electricity at the airport, and then jet back to Abuja within ten minutes of addressing you.
Do you see how he is visiting all the states in Nigeria? This is a sign of a committed leader who holds the interests of Nigerians to heart and will not turn the UK and France into his second home.
Remember when Tinubu visited Jos following the deadly attacks in Plateau State? He met community representatives near the airport and reportedly told them, “You have no light here, I'll fly out in ten minutes.”
Nigerians, the ball is in your court.
Will you join the boat of prosperity and fight for your country's freedom from the hands of politicians who don't think you're worth their time, or will you fold your hands and endure more years of bad leadership under the APC?
