It's official: I'm looking for PL/compilers jobs. If you have anything interesting, please hmu!
All of these tips are equally valid for academic research talks!
So, you want to give a conference talk? Great!
First, though, watch this 5-minute lightning talk I gave at @pytexas: "Five Ways To Keep Your Audience Off Of Their Phones."

It was a thrill to drive evaluation for StarCoder with a multi-institution team. Its multi-PL performance is validated with our work on MultiPL-E. Several members of the MultiPL-E team joined this effort, including @linguistcarolyn, @mhyee, Yangtian Zi, and Claire Schlesinger!
Introducing: 💫StarCoder
StarCoder is a 15B LLM for code with 8k context and trained only on permissive data in 80+ programming languages. It can be prompted to reach 40% pass@1 on HumanEval and act as a Tech Assistant.

I want to run tsc (TypeScript compiler) on a string, without creating a temporary file.
These don't work:
$ tsc <(printf "42")
$ printf "42" | tsc /dev/stdin
I can't believe this works:
$ ln -s /dev/stdin fake.ts
$ printf "42" | tsc fake.ts
