When you refuse to apologize to a child, you’re unintentionally teaching them that you are always right and that saying “sorry” is a sign of weakness. But children learn by watching you. If you never apologize, they grow up believing apologies don’t matter especially to you. As they get older and become exposed to the “magic words” of courtesy; sorry, please, excuse me, thank you, pardon me, they start to see the contradiction. That’s when some children begin to look you straight in the face without saying “sorry,” no matter how much you expect it. And that’s where the frustration begins. When children realize you demand what you don’t model, you lose moral authority. Eventually you’ll find yourself negotiating basic respect from them, simply because the foundation wasn’t laid early. So yes, children deserve apologies and explanations. Not because they are small, but because they are humans learning from you in real time. When you show humility, they mirror it. When you normalize apologies, they grow into adults who can own their mistakes.
Do you think children deserve apologies and explanations?

See, let me tell you all something. Before Aare Afe Babalola established Afe Babalola University in 2009, which now provides employment for a handful of Ekiti indigenes, the only jobs available to Ekiti youths back then were waking up and going to the farm in the morning to harvest two to three tubers of yam. Meanwhile, those who belonged to the ruling party had to wait until the end of the month to collect their ₦1,000 monthly stipends. This is why you would see that Baba Afe is the most respected indigene of Ekiti State today, even more cherished than all the state's past governors and the incumbent governor.

Second round of 2026 did slightly better than 2025. This table is missing a few entries, the HISA monthly interest payments, a few payments from GetEquity as well. Overall, no complaints, the portfolio is chugging along nicely.
Second half of the year dividends collected. Missing from the list are Access and Fidelity, hopefully they’ll be able to pull their weight and add to third round in November. So far in 2025, we have collected ₦2,877,000 + ₦1,024,000, for a total of ₦3,900,000 less WHT. Plus, there is more to come in November 😋.

Nupe Lawyer, shey Kwara State wants to put body? Maybe we should also be talking about how major investments in Kwara are largely concentrated in Ilorin, with Al-Hikmah University being the mega private individual investment, valued at equal to or less than ₦40 billion. If not for Abdul Samad Rabiu, President of BUA Group, who left faraway Kano State to establish a sugarcane plantation in Lafiagi, an investment that is currently contributing to your state's IGR, if not, Kwara would have been in an even more difficult economic position worst than Ekiti State. Given its financial kwashiorkored status, and possibly be merged to Niger State.

The goal shouldn't be to stop the child from feeling or expressing distress (tantrum). The goal should be to regulate the child.

"Woman no dey love man." "You need money to bag this kind of woman." "No love for poor man." Nigeria has damaged you. I've told you that woman/love are not Nigerian words.

i have something to say; there is really something fundamentally wrong with a country where civilians have to spend their own money to provide a basic service they are already paying the govt to deliver. our solar panels, generators and inverters should all be alternatives for an extra convenience not survival equipment for running a business, preserving food or enjoying few hours of uninterrupted electricity... think about the cold room operator who loses an entire stock of frozen food because the power goes off. somebody's investment, livelihood and family income gone fgs. this conversation should be more about demanding a grid that actually works not just be about finding personal ways to survive the electricity crisis. reliable electricity is basic infrastructure not a luxury !

This morning, we were officially handed over the facility that will serve as the ISEE Headquarters in Enugu. Our facility is 100% solar-powered, making it energy self-sufficient and independent of the unreliable national grid. We will double down on our efforts to achieve 100% literacy across the South East and build Africa’s greatest workforce by 2036. We will begin welcoming visitors to the facility from next week.
