my advice to my fellow game developer friends:
ai is real. ai changes everything. ai is happening and nobody can stop it even of they wanted. which they don't. this is happening. like the rain; the rain doesn't ask us for permission or advice.
it's critical to abandon the false hope from politicians. they want it to happen too. they just want it to serve them and not you. only a complete idiot would listen to a politician.
don't waste time. the future is happening now. don't let the politicians ruin your life. embrace change or be irrelevant.
behind is a terrible place to be.
Indie devs... Feeling lost in a sea of indie games?
Your job is still the same: build a great game, then show people what makes it worth playing.
AI or hand-crafted, your audience is out there. Give them a reason to care.
AI game devs: players don’t owe us their trust.
They’ve had years of broken promises and broken launches. Their skepticism makes sense.
Make a game so good they can’t ignore it. Earn the trust.
You have every right and privilege to value art crafted by a human more.
That's not the same as devaluing other people's creations because you aren't happy with the tools that were used.
Gonna call bullshit on this one.
But hopefully you prove me wrong.
Without creativity there is no moat.
Where are you utilizing ai that if you build something valuable 100 ppl don’t build the same thing tomorrow.
