my advice to my fellow game developer friends:
ai is real. ai changes everything. ai is happening and nobody can stop it even of they wanted. which they don't. this is happening. like the rain; the rain doesn't ask us for permission or advice.
it's critical to abandon the false hope from politicians. they want it to happen too. they just want it to serve them and not you. only a complete idiot would listen to a politician.
don't waste time. the future is happening now. don't let the politicians ruin your life. embrace change or be irrelevant.
behind is a terrible place to be.
Indie devs... Feeling lost in a sea of indie games?
Your job is still the same: build a great game, then show people what makes it worth playing.
AI or hand-crafted, your audience is out there. Give them a reason to care.
AI game devs: players don’t owe us their trust.
They’ve had years of broken promises and broken launches. Their skepticism makes sense.
Make a game so good they can’t ignore it. Earn the trust.

I'm old enough to remember when 'C++ slop' was the battle cry of 'real' coders.
Then it was 'Unity slop' and 'Unreal slop' from those who thought hand-rolled engines were superior in every way.
Now it's AI slop.
People draw a line on the abstraction hierarchy below which they are happy to automate the tedium. The line just moved... that's all.
Skilled people will still make superior software. We have been inundated with low quality slop since the birth of digital distribution decades ago. It's nothing new.
99% of AI games will be crap.
But the top 1% are going to change the way you think about gaming forever... If you let them.
People refused to play games made by gamemaker... Now it's normalized...
People refused to play games with "art asset packs" Now it's normalized..
People refuse to play AI games...
Wait til the 2027 game of the year is made with AI.
Morals will disappear...
