Another way to Tokyo is on the horizon 🇯🇵✈️
ZIPAIR is coming to Pearson in 2027, with year-round nonstop service to Tokyo Narita three times a week. Toronto will be ZIPAIR's second Canadian destination after Vancouver.
Cherry blossom season, late nights in Shinjuku, the perfect bowl of ramen: whatever's on your list, it's about to get a little easier to reach.
Stay tuned to find out when ticket sales launch.

This is awesome
When I built @kotn’s first store 12 years ago, I knew how to code and it still took me two weeks just to get to something OK, years to get to something I liked.
We built the tool I wish I had back then. Here’s Canvas.

Something my team built, super proud of everyone! Lots of hacking to get everything to feel super smooth
We built a vending machine that knows who you are.
For @Pokemon's 30th anniversary, Hobbiesville put it to work. Customers signed in with Shop, scanned their code, and their purchase history unlocked their pack. The deeper their collector history, the better the pack.
Customer loyalty, brought to life. For the True Collectors. Powered by @Shopify.

This was a fun one for our team, looking forward to sharing the behind-the-scenes tech breakdown. Spoiler: Shopify is so flexible it was like it was meant to power a vending machine from the get-go.

Working on this project brought me back into the hobby!
Seeing the genuine reactions from true collectors unlocking and ripping their packs is a highlight of the year for me

In 2026, a Reddit user captured the final moments of his aging PlayStation 2 as its graphics processor failed in the middle of a race.
The yellow car on a coastal track began dissolving into broken polygons and visual glitches before the screen eventually collapsed into solid color bars. The decades-old console kept rendering until its final frame, giving its owner one last spectacular, glitch-filled farewell after more than 20 years of gaming.

identity studies series 0: a swirling shadow may transcend into an elephant or a dancer
the exploration of identity forming is baked into the process itself: as I train AI models on my own hand-coded generative systems, I instill a certain identity to the outputs that will later come out from exploring the space of possibilities that the models can represent. But the outputs are not forced to be exactly conforming to the trained sets.
We learn from our environment ("training") throughout our lives and include elements into our selves. What we incorporate exists a priori, so bits of our identities come from years past: we are made of past existences of other entities.
Shown: #02, where a certain structure and even visual appearance from one of the training sets (my Contrapuntos artwork) reveals itself as a crowd of people in varied colours plus some vertical elements that directly come from black vertical bands that show in Contrapuntos pieces. The yellow-white element could be a memory from other training set, Entretiempos.

Fun chat. I stand by my claim: Shopify's Global Catalog is *the* gold rush opportunity of 2026. It's open, it's free, and it's agent ready to power discovery-to-checkout.

UCP deep-dive: xitter.cf/igrigorik/status/20564…
"This is the biggest @ShopifyDevs opportunity right now."
@igrigorik, Distinguished Engineer at Shopify, shared more about the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) and what's coming next during DotDev.
The major moments:
- UCP is a free, public, global catalogue API.
Only Google, Amazon, and a few others have solved discovery at internet scale, and almost none expose it publicly.
Shopify spent $100M+ over two years and made it free. "This is a picks-and-shovels moment. There's gold in that mountain."
- Built with Google, launched in January.
Decades of Shopify scale compressed, plus partners like Target. By April, Meta, Salesforce, Amazon, and Stripe had joined.
- How UCP works.
A merchant declares what it supports like cards, checkout, subscriptions, split payments, gift cards. A client or agent says "I don't speak gift cards yet, but I understand subscriptions."
They negotiate the overlap and transact.
- Completely open participation.
A merchant can invent "fancy subscriptions" tomorrow, and any agent that speaks it can transact. It turns commerce into a market negotiation.
- Modelling all of commerce is absurdly hard.
It's the world's longest-running trade and always evolving, so you can't write a static spec. UCP is built around capability negotiation instead.
UCP aggregates across all merchants and normalizes the permutations (one seller's size 10 is another's 9.5; blue is someone's turquoise) into coherent availability, prices, and latency.
Thanks for coming on the show Ilya! We'd love to have you back.
Ecomm Cowboy is live every M-F at 12P CT.
So much hard work from our team to bring this to life and sold out in minutes 🔥
Can't wait to share more about how we built this!
This. Just. Happened.
Twitch's biggest streamer, @KaiCenat, opened a subscriber-only drop from @TONEexclusive, the brand he cofounded, in real time to 430,000+ fans.
All they had to do was scan the QR code or hit the link. It's that easy.
Sold out in under 5 min. Powered by @Shopify.

The Catalog now includes billions of products and UCP is enabled on all Shopify stores by default.
Anyone can now build any shopping experience on these rails. We're also introducing Shop sign-in so results are personalized and we’ll be adding the ability for devs to earn commission on sales.
We built some fun apps of our own to show what’s possible. Have fun.

Last summer I joined a new R&D team at Shopify focused on building the future of commerce using only publicly available tools, then sharing exactly how we did it. We're always tinkering, and once we land on something special, we partner with brands to bring it to life at scale.
DEL is minted out.
All 256 artworks were placed during the private sale.
Many thanks to all collectors who reached out. It’s encouraging and humbling to see this kind of demand.
A beautiful reminder of why blockchain art is such a unique medium and market.
