If your son wants to play college FB but thinks his HS coaches are too hard on him, he probably doesn’t need to pursue college ball. It’s an entirely different level of urgency and intensity. Being coached hard isn’t for everyone and that’s ok.

I have so much respect for high school football coaches. It’s a sport that requires significant amount of time meeting and watching film. When you work a 9-5 all of that comes at the sacrifice of time with family and friends.
Then they go out and have 1 shot a week to get it right. The whole town is there. They all have something to say when it’s not going well.
The glory is great, but the stress and work has to be hard.

Nearly every team has standards.
Elite teams unapologetically hold every player accountable to the standards.
Mediocre teams have selective accountability. Some players are held accountable to the standard, while other players are allowed to deviate from the standards.
