A lot to unpack here. Anthropic is burying some hard truths in careful political language. Some initial reads: 1) Anthropic verifies that none of the jailbreaks provided a capability beyond what many other models, including Chinese models, could do.
Claude Fable 5 will be available again globally tomorrow. After a series of productive conversations with the US government, we're redeploying the model with a new set of classifiers to target and block more cybersecurity tasks. In the near term, some routine tasks like coding and debugging will fall back to Opus 4.8. We’ll continue to refine these classifiers over the coming weeks to reduce false positives and better distinguish genuine misuse from legitimate requests. We’ve also begun drafting a consensus framework—with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other Glasswing partners—for assessing the severity of AI jailbreaks and how AI developers should respond to them. We invite other industry partners and model providers to join us in this effort. Finally, we’re scaling up our collaboration with the US government on model testing and safeguards. This will include pre-release access to models and safeguards for evaluation, information sharing on jailbreaks and misuse, and dedicated resources for joint research. Thank you to our users for your patience, and to our partners across the government, industry, and the research community who worked alongside us to make Fable 5 available again. Objectively hilarious that the one time British loyalists in the North of Ireland get global attention, everyone's calling them Irish.

@FIFAWorldCup now does Fake News too…..
Official attendance figures reflect the number of tickets scanned and spectators present within the stadium footprint, rather than visual assessments of seating occupancy at any given moment during the match. FIFA works closely with stadium authorities and ticketing teams to ensure all published figures are based on verified operational data. Please note that, during last night’s match in Guadalajara, several ticketed fans could be seen standing in concourses rather than staying in their assigned seats throughout the match.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Photos from the match show thousands of empty seats throughout the stadium, contradicting the claim of only several fans in concourses. nytimes.com/athletic/73524… yahoo.com/news/world/art…

Please do traipse up to these mobs in, say, loyalist East Belfast and praise them because “all they want to be is Irish.” Let us know how that goes.

Kilmeade to an agreeing Markwayne Mullin: "In Belfast they're standing up because their leaders have let them down. They're trying to take their country back. They want to label them as racist. All they want to be is Irish. They want Ireland back. And that is what we've been saying for the longest time. I see a lot of the same fights here."

As Secretary of the Bobby Sands Trust I condemn the cowardly and craven decision by SDLP councillors tonight on Belfast City Council to support unionists by absenting themselves on a motion aimed at removing a statue to Bobby Sands in Twinbrook. (Full statement below)

Thinking of applying for a .brand TLD in the next #ICANN round? What does this list of abandoned TLDs tell you about the consultants who sold these clients on them?
