Gurgaon needs to decide if it needs the local tax base, increase in property values which delivers stamp duty and property tax, or slowly lose all of its residents with a brain.
Every single road in every single sector is full of dust and debris. I have raised complaints on every government department and app there is, and no action ever occurs, or the root problem is not solved.
The time is not far when people laugh when you tell someone you live in Gurgaon. The reason they don't laugh today is they live in some equally decrepit part of Delhi NCR.
@narendramodi ji, can you please plan visits to each sector of Gurgaon for two hours each month? We will like to at least temporarily see our neighborhoods not look like w*r zones.

My colleague @VinayakD has put together a really cool (and representative) dashboard for Delhi’s bad air. It is comprehensive and scrapes data from multiple sources to understand meteorological conditions and source of pollution. hindustantimes.com/breathe
So the Vyapar Kendra & Galleria roads will remain one-way until Gurgaon Metro completes its underpass. Work on this hasn’t even started, so why was @MunCorpGurugram in a rush to spend money that’s being wasted now? The median is already damaged. Grrrrgaon! @Suhelseth @thesatbir
Hello @MunCorpGurugram You’ve spent crores on roads that will be choked & footpaths that can’t be walked on. This is opposite Supermart 1 down the road from Vyapar Kendra. How does one cross the road? Can we please make Gurgaon liveable again? @LloydMathias @Suhelseth @ddey67
Welcome to Gurgaon where newly-installed road dividers are broken by motorists and police turn a blind eye. This is down the road from Supermart & Vyapar Kendra which @MunCorpGurugram hopes to make two-way. @TrafficGGM @dcptrafficggm @TOIGurgaon @HTGurgaon

Gurugram’s two-way experiment on Hamilton Court & Vyapar Kendra Road is a terrible move, and a familiar one.
Both roads have been one-way since 2014. That wasn’t an accident. It was done because these stretches couldn’t handle two-way traffic, and traffic around Galleria, Vyapar Kendra and Golf Course Road has grown many times over since then. So what changed to make two-way work now?
As far as anyone can tell, nothing was studied. GMDA’s own officials have said the final decision will come “after a traffic survey.”
- Yet the dividers are already up, median gaps are closed, colony entrances are cut off, and people are driving both ways.
- Residents say a sub-2 km stretch that took 2–3 minutes now takes 30.
- Sector 43 residents are doing 4–5 km detours to reach places they could see from their gate.
- Galleria traders say even the local traffic police didn’t know about the trial at first.
The last 100 meters of my daily work commute involved a portion of this stretch. It used to take 1-2 mins. Today, the same stretch stands at 1.5 kms and approx 15-20 mins.
Here’s what’s wrong:
1. You don’t experiment on a corridor this congested without a traffic management plan. No phasing, no diversion plan, no timeline. Just bollards and hope.
2. There’s zero communication on the ground. No boards, no banners, no lane markings. Signals are still set for one-way. Commuters are guessing which direction is legal, and nobody is there to tell them.
3. Enforcement is aimed at the wrong traffic. Cops focus on cars, while the biggest sources of chaos go unchecked: autos stopping mid-road, wrong-side two-wheelers, delivery riders on footpaths.
4. Gurugram’s car problem is behaviour, not lane direction. Untrained drivers in oversized SUVs, black-tinted glass, missing number plates, double parking outside schools. And barely any traffic personnel to deal with any of it. No road design fixes that. Not that any exists today.
5. It fits a pattern of “visual work.” This ₹44 crore project started in February 2024, missed its February 2025 deadline, then missed March 2026. What we got is plastic bollards and cycle tracks that photograph well, while daily commutes got worse. It’s busy work that looks like progress.
GMDA has now said one-way stays for the festive season. Good. But a festive-season pause isn’t a plan. Before anything changes on these roads:
- Publish the traffic study, or do one.
- Clear the encroachments and illegal parking that already eat half the carriageway and service roads
- Consult the RWAs and traders who use these roads every day.
- Put up proper signage before the change, not after the chaos.
Gurugram doesn’t need more roads that make good photo ops. It needs traffic that’s managed.

The chaos created and u turn taken by @OfficialGMDA , @TrafficGGM , @gurgaonpolice is only because they did not follow the original plan which catered for most of the eventualities. The proposal was prepared after traffic surveys and studies. It ensured smooth traffic flow in a continuous loop by providing split rotaries and eliminating the numerous perpendicular intersections and red lights retaining only the major ones. Something like the stretch in Delhi between Yusuf Sarai and IIT Flyover. Some where down the line the original proposal prepared by the mobility division of GMDA was scuttled by a genius. Why was it done?

This @NewYorker story is so good, and so important for everyone to understand. Through the lens of semiconductor manufacturing, it highlights the interconnectedness of today’s world and puts to shame anyone who thinks that we can go back to a world shaped only by national rivalries rather than international cooperation and trade. “The semiconductor supply chain is a planetary superorganism with its own ecology…. Globalization has become tainted in our eyes, as if it necessarily constitutes a zero-sum enterprise. And its mercenary form—which is also its most common form—has indeed inflicted harm. But the global semiconductor supply chain reflects an alternative pathway. It has united its participants in the pursuit of something profoundly difficult that could not have been achieved in the absence of intercontinental solidarity.” newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…
Hello @TrafficGGM, @dcptrafficggm With the Vyapar Kendra & Galleria roads almost ready to become 2-way again, when will the switchover happen? Can you post cops & signage to ensure no chaos like Barapullah was? And can you stop the @letsblinkit guys from driving the wrong way?
And here’s @TOIGurgaon reporting on the confusion today: Signals, markings not ready, Vyapar Kendra road in Gurgaon chokes as motorists shift to two-way traffic timesofindia.indiatimes.com/… @OfficialGMDA Wake up and coordinate with @TrafficGGM please

I first fell for Slow Horses because it was espionage like I’d never seen before. A brilliant dark comedy, with subversion buried so deep it’d always sneak up on you.
Add to that, Gary Oldman’s gloriously disheveled Jackson Lamb sparring with the cold, unflappable Diana Taverner! Killer combo.
But only this season could I put my finger on why Slow Horses lands so hard.
Anyone can die. At any moment. And you won't see it coming.
Most shows have a deal with the audience. They let you know who's expendable and who isn't.
The leads, the charming ensemble, the likeable ones. They take risks, they get hurt, but they make it.
Slow Horses pulls that rug right from under you. You only realise someone's gone after the scene lands like a punch to the gut. And you sit there, staring.
Beneath the humor and absurdity, it delivers the direct experience of being a spy.
Not war-room talk, but how close death walks beside every one of them. One misstep, one blink, and it's over.
Once you realise this, the opening song, "Strange Game," hits different:
"You made one mistake, you got burned at the stake. You're finished, you're foolish, you failed."
What a show. 🖤
Large parts of Gurgaon are without piped gas since early morning. @zomato should’ve run a hyper-local offer offering discounted breakfast. Missed opportunity 🤓

So @MunCorpGurugram puts up multiple sign boards telling us where SHALU VERMA lives. Also informs us that she is an “eminent person” and is district co-ordinator for Modi ji’s Mann ki baat.🙄 Thank you @NayabSainiBJP MCG & Haryana Sarkar.🙏 Now can you please fix Gurgaon’s roads?
Absolutely outstanding!
Once, Kishore Kumar ji asked Lata ji, "Didi, among the songs I’ve sung, which one is your favorite?"
Lata ji replied, "Dada, should I tell you or sing it for you?"
Kishore Kumar ji immediately said, "Didi, please sing it!"
Lata ji laughed and said, "Not now… maybe some other time."
On his next birthday, Lataji sent him a gift - a Kishore Kumar song she specially recorded in HMV studio and sang for him.
It was a rare and touching gesture — a beautiful tribute
Remembering Lataji
Please listen to the song!
It’s now evident that the road from HUDA Metro Station to Golf Course Road will be two-way soon. But if they don’t embed a physical divider between on that yellow line, the chaos of 2014 will repeat itself: our local yokels will be driving on both sides in both directions. Again.
And if @MunCorpGurugram & @TrafficGGM don’t remove parked vehicles and fruit-sellers from the sides of the road, two lanes will come down to one. A sureshot recipe for traffic jams. Again. Ditto for the stretch from Golf Course Road past Galleria.
