Colonialism does not always return with soldiers. Sometimes it returns with loans, contracts, and leaders who have forgotten whom they represent. Thomas Sankara was right; that is our reality today.

THREE NEW BITCOIN CORE VULNERABILITIES DISCOVERED, INCLUDING BUG ALLOWING ATTACKERS TO REMOTELY CRASH NODES One flaw lets malicious peers crash Bitcoin nodes running Windows, macOS, or BSD by exhausting memory. Linux nodes are unaffected by this attack. Another allows attackers to gradually exhaust node memory, while a third could corrupt blockchain undo data. Two flaws were discovered by AI-powered @ProjectLoupe at @spiral_xyz, with one independently identified by @L0RINC. Fixes are available in Bitcoin Core 29.5, 30.4, 31.2, and 32.1, though certain configurations remain vulnerable to the third issue.
🚨 BREAKING: Three new Bitcoin Core vulnerabilities discovered including a bug allowing attackers to remotely brick nodes. The vulnerabilities include two medium-severity flaws that could allow malicious peers to exhaust node memory and a third that could corrupt blockchain undo data under extreme conditions. @ProjectLoupe, an AI-powered security initiative at @spiral_xyz, independently identified the vulnerabilities alongside other researchers, including @L0RINC of the #Bitcoin Red Team 🟥. Fixes have been released in Bitcoin Core versions 29.5, 30.4, 31.2, and 32.1, although certain 32-bit and FAT32 configurations remain vulnerable to the third issue.

This is why I keep Bit-Block as simple as it is. No new features, only adjustable and qimplified policy settings. The more features introduced, the more attack vectors are being opened up. Keep Bitcoin money. Keep it stupidly simple.

Here's somebody explaining how the economy works. Great journalist and broadcaster, by the way, Ross Ashcroft, RIP, interviewing me around 2015.

Good conversations about Bitcoin shouldn't happen only online. There's value in sitting across from someone, exchanging ideas, asking questions & learning from different perspectives. That's what the Bitcoin Ikorodu Meetup is about. Here's an invitation to our next gathering🧵 – at Ikorudu, Nigeria

The story Bitcoin is telling itself goes like this. Kimi arrived, Coldcard got hit, the Red Team mobilized, and now we're battle tested. Most of that story is wrong. Kimi trailed frontier models that were already out, and the Red Team scanned 390 repos for about $40,000 of compute. That was available all along. The ecosystem waited until Coldcard cost self-custody users $100 million to pay for it, and Ledger users lost roughly another $90 million this month. Code is also the smaller attack surface. The bigger one is the social graph. The opening strike on Iran killed its top leadership in one morning. In Venezuela the US went after one man. The fewer people a system depends on, the less force it takes to break it. Five people hold merge access to Bitcoin Core, and Brink's own report shows one of them merged 56% of all changes in 2025. The usual answer is that miners and nodes decide, not maintainers. Three pools produce roughly 63% of all blocks, and a small set of exchanges and custodians decide which rules stick. Add the five maintainers and everyone who decides Bitcoin's rules fits in one conference room. Nobody needs to break the code if they can pressure, capture, or replace the people in that room. Harden the graph the way we harden code, by removing single points of failure. Put the rules in a written spec, which the Orange Paper does. Run enough independent implementations that two can be compromised and the network still holds. Let miners build their own block templates. End self-merge and make exit cheap. Bitcoin solved consensus between machines. It still hasn't solved consensus between the people who write the code, run the pools, and operate the nodes. I've been red teaming that room, and the findings are public. Nobody else has picked it up. btcdecoded.org

The people who are the best in the world at what they do, do not trade in the currency of money, or equity, but in purpose. If your mission is rich in this currency, and more importantly you know how to send this currency from your head to their heart over a power network called "human speech" then you have the capacity to build a dream team that can do what is impossible alone. This is not a random message, so let me give a practical datapoint to back this up. Our infrastructure company CH4Capital has one purpose "profitably destroy landfill methane." To achieve this I needed our team to know about Bitfcoin mining, infrastructure financing, landfill gas power generation and landfill gas carbon credits. I had expertise in exactly none of these things. So I asked myself "who is the best person we could have in each of these 4 areas". After some time searching, I found the world's leading authority on landfill gas power generation and landfill gas carbon credits was the same person. Nuno Barbosa. I contacted Nuno, and explained how I thought we could solve a problem: half the world's landfills couldn't sell power to the grid: solve this and we double his project pipeline. He agreed that was a big problem and said he was curious to find out more, so we arranged a call, but send the details of how it worked beforehand on a one pager, which he responded positively to. I opened the call with a simple request "I'd like you as an advisor to the fund. What this would look like is we get on a half hour phonecall every fotnight for the next year. The worse that happens is that you waste 26 hours of your life. The best that happens is that we double your business and change the way methane mitigation is done globally." Then paused. He replied simple "Yes, that sounds like a good idea." No spin. Transparent about risk. But also transparency about the potential CH4Capital is now close to 2 separate projects in Latin America, with PVARA (Pakistan's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority) also now actively looking to enact Bitcoin mining across the whole country's landfills. Without Nuno on the fund, this would have been impossible. His expertise was instrumental to our ability to build a fund that yielded a high return through harnessing carbon credits in addition to standard loan financing. Finding Nuno was the (relatively) easy part. Knowing what to say to Nuno took both research into the problem he faced, and a lot of pre-work to understand how to communicate to influence, not merely inform. This is why I say, people who are the best in the world at what they do, do not trade in the currency of money, or equity, but in purpose. If you understand how to trade (communicate) in that currency, you have the basis for forming a dream team who can achieve what you cannot possibly do alone. I'm currently coaching other Bitcoiners how to do this, with some good results that have helped progress various Bitcoin projects. If your mission depends on having others see the value of your ideas, reach out!

France is grappling with debt and political instability, while its former colonies in the Sahel are challenging its influence. Fiat is dying. Paris is ground zero. 🇫🇷₿ Not because the euro is collapsing today, but because the old systems of monetary power are being questioned

We have been voting for 60+ years and nothing's changed. Your politicians are actually campaigning using the same promises from 60 years ago. This is not working. It is time for revolution. #RevoltOrPerish !

Sad to see this terrible handling of the matter by @Liquid_BTC when people’s savings are on the line. You’d think a company that sells Trust and Security would be aiming higher than what we’re seeing now…
