Thank you Southgate for screwing up another Euro final. We can discuss whether Watkins and Palmer should have started. With Kane, Mainoo and Foden contributing nothing, why he waited that long to introduce Watkins, and longer still to introduce Palmer, is incomprehensible.
After Palmer equalised, all of three minutes after entering the pitch, he should have rebalanced the team, introducing a midfielder to replace Foden. A blind person could have seen that we had no one pressing or doing filter in the middle of the part.
Thanks God for that. My opinion on Southgate does not change. He was forced to make the changes he should have done much earlier. Changes that any decent manager would have done before going one down.
