Stopped at a red light, your mind starts reading out the list. None of it is shouting, but it hums. One psalm admits the same thing, and what it says arrives in the very same sentence. youtu.be/beB7dMRuqG4

You do a hundred useful things a day and nobody notices. At night one small question turns up. A verse from Jeremiah answers it, and it was spoken to people who felt very far from home. youtu.be/fsKt0NzaIN4

You wake up and the weight is already back. You’d hoped it would be gone by now. A short verse from James has a surprising way of describing what you’re doing, and it’s much smaller than heroism. youtu.be/r7RcWZP1_dI

Ask how your week went and the complaints arrive instantly. Ask what went well and there’s a pause. One psalmist saw this coming, and the person he chose to speak to might surprise you. youtu.be/Y7Hi0I51ito

Jesus linked two things on the last evening he spent with his friends, and the order he put them in changes how obedience feels. Which comes first, and why does it matter? youtu.be/jV5yf_uwMDg

Everyone has a story about the time they were completely sure, and completely wrong. Proverbs says something quiet about how arrogance arrives, and a detail in the Hebrew suggests it doesn’t arrive alone. What walks in behind it? youtu.be/Jx9lJjCDNM4

You can spend all day building a perfect defence and drop it in a second. Jesus told of a man who prayed with nothing to defend, and the word he used appears only twice in the New Testament. Where does the other one turn up? youtu.be/bJBXzy9yXvM

Some mornings you read the verse of the day and feel nothing at all. Paul says the old pages were written for a reason, and his word for encouragement carries a picture most of us have never noticed. What picture is hiding in it? youtu.be/LikEZMP_O3Y

Most of us only find out what we’ve been leaning on when it moves. The word Jeremiah uses for confidence is more than a feeling, it names something you can put your whole weight on. What exactly is yours resting on? youtu.be/mE6Yx55DtNw

Some seasons last far longer than anyone told you they would. The Bible word for restore here was also used for what two fishermen did to their torn nets, and it changes who does the repairing. What had to happen to those nets first? youtu.be/t9iKbasEnVE

You can pray with total sincerity and still feel doubt sitting in the same room. One desperate father said both in a single breath, and the word he picked for help carries a picture most of us miss. What did Jesus do with a prayer that honest? youtu.be/JBMt4bNrckQ

In 2007, Lord David Steel, who introduced the legislation, expressed concern about the widespread use of abortion, acknowledging that he had not anticipated such high numbers. He said: “𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. You can carry your own bags, your own decisions and your own weight, until the day you can’t. Isaiah told exiles that their God does something Babylon’s gods never could. See what he promised to do when your hair turns grey. youtu.be/p2JjAb3Kfq4
