Every year around Veterans Day, I try to get people to post photos of themselves in uniform that they are proud of. Inevitably, there’s always a slew of comments with people saying they really didn’t do much in the service. I don’t think that’s true.
Hollywood likes to show acts of unparalleled valor, which leads people to think that that is the norm. It’s not.
The military runs off of teamwork. Everyone has a specific job to do to make the machine run.
If you’ve ever eaten MREs for weeks straight, you know how important cooks are.
If you’ve ever watched someone suffer, you know how important doc is.
If you’ve ever needed 123 batteries, which always seemed impossible to find, you know how important a good supply Sergeant is.
If you’ve ever needed comms or had computer issues, you know how important IT is.
The list goes on and on. Be proud of your service. Less than 1% of the population serves, and less than 7% of the American population are veterans.
I’m proud of you.

🧵1/ Donald Trump is sending National Guard troops into California—over the objection of the governor—to crack down on immigration protests.
It’s a deliberate misuse of military power. And it demands public scrutiny. 👇

We are tired of having to say this and post this. Unfortunately, until we elect more elected officials who are willing to take on gun industry money, we will keep having to post this over and over again.

In the age of NIL for college athletes, @CycloneFB QB @RoccoBecht is using his NIL funds to give back in a special way.
Thanks to the We Will Collective, Becht was able to hold a free football camp for students at Perry High School, a school that dealt with tragedy earlier this year.

Nearly 10 years ago, I met a Congressman from rural MN who drove around for hours to help a single Veteran get a pair of hearing aids so he could hear his dying wife’s voice. Never would have guessed then that #TimWalz would be in running for VP. youtu.be/kqoqiM5VGQk?si=Rs-K…

🚨If you’re looking for a textbook example of Stolen Valor, look no further than Donald Trump’s campaign and the 50 Veterans who signed this letter.
29 of the signatures come from Republicans who falsely claim they retired from military service.
The most egregious example is Ronny Jackson, the former Navy officer reduced in rank from Rear Admiral to Captain after retirement.

Martin Sheen concluding 6th & I West Wing event with a sort of Bartlet pastiche of Sorkin speeches—and then he closes the book and *becomes* Jed Bartlet, speaking from the heart. It’s pretty cool.

I haven't put out one of these maps in forever. However, the potential does exist for SEVERE weather over a good chunk of southern MN & IA tomorrow as a dynamic storm system shifts east. This may prove to be an active day.
