Started a math based PBL enrichment project today and one of my kids came to me after and told me “My brain feels like Einstein!” #tvdsbmath
So proud of the work our team has done and especially proud of the hard work put in by our students! 🥰
A very proud moment for the team @SirGECartierPS1 sharing the INCREDIBLE work they have done to develop students’ reading skills. Director @DirFisherTVDSB heard just 2 of the outstanding readers demonstrating their use of decodable texts. @lapizzolato @PolhillSheri #tvdsbproud
Big thanks to @MsMiller37 for organizing such a fun dance for the school today. My kids couldn’t stop taking about how fun it was. 🥰 @SirGECartierPS1
Just look at the problem solving going on in grade 1/2 @SirGECartierPS1 ! The first problem was for my grade 1 enrichment group, the second for my grade 2s. So proud not only of their math but their perseverance! 🥰 @TVDSBmath

We are celebrating @WorldHijabDay here at Cartier. We are having rich discussions about unconscious bias and learning/unlearning to help dispel misinformation and show support for all students. @TVDSB @TVDSBEquity @TVDSBSafeSchool
Just practice read Giraffe's Can't Dance with @Novel_Effect and I am SOOOOO excited for tomorrow's read aloud!
Oh how I’ve been missing this level of creativity! Ss had 5 mins to make a robot with LEGO. His broke just before time up so he turned it into a guy building a robot! 🥰 #bestclass @SirGECartierPS1
Is there any better feeling than watching those boxes turn from yellow/red to green? First set is our letter -sound (1st assessment Sept, 2nd Nov)and second is phonological awareness (1st assessment Sept, 2nd Nov) @TVDSBLiteracy @SirGECartierPS1
Super easy math win. Each day I put some Among Us characters on the hundreds chart with one placed incorrectly. The kids have to find the imposter! Literally can’t set up before the end of day for next day or I can’t get the kids to leave! 😂 @TVDSBmath
So much excitement when I showed students the video of a real life desk pet visit I had on the snow day!
We’ve been working on arrays for repeated addition and introductory multiplication. Today we started our 1st math wordle and applied what we knew. Quick, easy and fun math! Best part was hearing things like “We are going to figure this out over recess!” Woohoo! @masonville_ps
Oh my goodness I wish I had recorded the math conversations happening with todays warm ups! I am LOVING how into problem solving they are getting! One of my Ss with some math struggles just said “it’s 32 because it’s the only one that isn’t a double of the answer!” @masonville_ps
Thanks for your post about Zap @MsRChanner! We played it today and they LOVED it. So easy to differentiate as well. We used regular dice for some groups (kings removed) and then the 10 sided for others and it worked perfectly!
Day one of the Grade 2 olympics @masonville_ps. We researched and did an oral presentation on Beijing, and then learned about the opening ceremonies and of course created our own. Next we created desk pet bobsleds and went outside to test our designs with bobsled races.
