"We want all that pressure... there's so many great things going on, not just within the basketball program at JMU, but within athletics and at the university that we want to be a part of."

You are closer to your dreams than you think. You're one decision, action, etc. away. - @edmylett via @jongordon11 's #ThePositiveSummit

These final few weeks with my dad have been precious beyond words. At the end of every visit, he asked me to pray for him. Which of course I did. On my knees beside the big leather chair he was confined to for the past several months.
But as I was leaving his house this past Saturday night, he asked if he could pray for me. As if he knew.
Then, as was his habit, he said, “I couldn’t be prouder of you Andy.”
The source of a word determines its weight. Those were wonderfully weighty words. And his final words to me.
I’ll miss him every day until I see him again.

Nicole Lynn sent Jalen Hurts an Instagram DM after his college career ended:
"Hey, have you picked an agent? If not, I'd love to link."
Hurts then went on to sign with her.
Today, Lynn made Hurts the highest-paid player in NFL history (5-yr, $255M).
Bet on yourself.

Navy SEALs have a saying.
You may find it helpful.
When something sucks, they look at each other and say:
"FULL BENEFIT"
It’s an instant mindset shift.
• Hiking and it starts pouring rain?
• Driving and your car breaks down?
• Working on a project and lost a draft?
FULL BENEFIT.

LESSON: Adversity is an opportunity
The message is simple.
Every adversity is an opportunity.
• To grow
• To learn
• To evolve
• To get stronger
• To become better
These moments forge us if we let them.
The next time you're facing something hard, welcome it.
Work through the process.
Learn the lessons.
Reap the full benefit.
