Great conversation in troubled times. At @nupinytt & @NordicAfrica seminar w. @SweAmbETandAU; @NorwayinAddis & key voices such as @NgogaFred. #AfricaNordic common interests have built APSA. But times are changing: with reform, in polycrisis, how will they leave no one behind?

We'd like to make a visual point about interpreting the UN Charter:
The Charter comprises 66 pages in a 4x5" book.
It's pictured here with some of the 1000s of pages of important commentary on it.
In other words, reading the Charter itself is only a 1st step for understanding it.

What we are observing is EU’s attempts to relocalise industries on European soil. There are questions about how utopian that goal is but, regardless, for African countries, the question is how does the is fit with statements on industrialisation?

Yesterday, the EC announced that “ the new Green Energy Park [in Brazil] will be a 10 GW production facility for clean hydrogen and ammonia, which will then be shipped to the island of Krk in Croatia. From there, hydrogen will travel to serve industrial off-takers.” 2/3

Africa as a commodity producer. Not more. The EU has made it clear that, rethoric on industrialisation aside, it mainly wants commodities (hydrogen, critical minerals). Will we make our interests clear and fight for them?
Africa isn’t alone though. Even countries like Brazil 1/3
