Ok so something unbelievable happened. We used to get rejects on the same day 😂 but some stars ⭐️ have aligned in our universe and two editors sent acceptances today! So join us in counting down to another one of our papers! Here’s to Team Epigenetics 😁🎉🎉🙌🏻

So we are ready with our next paper! And we are EXCITED is an understatement! Join us as we countdown to the release 🎉 I could not be prouder of the team that pulled off this manuscript, they go by Team NRTF (IYKYK). 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Happy to share our paper out in @BioMedCentral BMC Bioinformatics! Lead author is @manoj290991 , he developed a ML tool for neurite measurement called DeNat which cuts down quantification time by A LOT while giving us gains in accuracy and sensitivity. Congrats to all authors 🎉🎉🎉🎉 link.springer.com/article/10…

As the crew gear up for @IndAcadNeurosci IAN 2026, we are so happy to hear that our lab project associate + lab manager @DhruvaKesireddy has bagged the John Miller Travel Award. He will presenting cool work on Nuclesome remodeling and how that impacts axon regeneration! Congrats 🎊

Lab alum @DeeptaBeji , who’s doing her masters in Europe swung by to say hello! Universe lined up the ⭐️s, same day we could get Deepta, @netrakrish and @AnishaSumith the past & present of Team Epigenetics in one frame! Continue ✨Deepta, we will always cheer for you!

We made it to the 1% preprints of @qedScience !!! Only 2 from 🇮🇳 and one is @Yogeshsahu2030’s preprint! I’ve always said geographical bias exists in peer review and total blinding would give us the review we actually deserve. Now I have receipts to back it up! Curious who else made the cut? Another fav part of the retreat for me? As part of the state of the lab address, Individual shout-out to the crew along with a sashing ceremony (sash has the key achievement from the past year drawn with custom designs by @Rutuja_P13 ) 😁 who doesn’t love the spotlight right? ❤️

We are turning 4 in 2 wks. As tradition goes, I take the lab to a retreat to celebrate our collective wins - big & small, acknowledge contributions of all, course-correct, strategize, 🧠 storm, eat lots, laugh 😆 silly, and essentially regenerate- because it starts with us! ❤️

And we are offffffff #IVLabretreat2026 😀 see you on the other side!

We've been obsessed with the 3D genome lately. Our preprint will tell you why. We mapped 3D topology, layer by layer, across Development and Injury, guess what?! Neurons retain latent cellular memory that triggers rewiring of the 3D genome upon injury!!! biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

6 ways to have a good weekend:
1. Drink coffee.
2. Avoid people.
3. Read books. Go for a walk.
4. Drink more coffee.
5. Keep avoiding people.

Once I read this thing where a woman said that she will not read any books on productivity, time management, habits or how to live the best life if they're written by men because they were able to manage that time or build those life changing habits because they HAD A WIFE. Instead, this person said they would only read female-authored books on that subject--moms or wives that did the laundry, worked, and still got stuff done. I think about that a lot.

Biggest lesson I’ll tell my younger scientist self? Take more breaks. It’s easier to pull yourself self from an *almost* burnout than a full one. That blot can wait, those stack of to-read papers will still be there after your break, a refreshed you is >>>>>>>> all else.

So. @htTweets picked up my tweet on the lab presenting despite the cold 🥶 weather and covered it 😂 go figure!

A perfect way to wrap up the year: Preprint #5 is live! 📝✨
Huge shoutout to @netrakrish on her very first paper—the youngest first author in our lab! It’s also my 2nd, first author preprint of 2025.
Grateful for this incredible team and a productive year of science. 🧪🔬
Ending 2025 with our 5th preprint for this year 🎉 this time work co-lead by @netrakrish and @AnishaSumith , where we discover that nucleosome eviction around pro-growth genes underlies successful chromatin remodeling in injured neurons.
