Rest in peace, Margaret Hamilton (1936–2026). Humanity walked on the Moon because extraordinary minds like hers made the impossible possible. In an era when women were routinely erased from history's achievements and forced to the sidelines by male scientists, she led the team that developed Apollo’s flight software, saved humanity’s first Moon landing, and revolutionised software engineering. The world has lost a scientist, pioneer, and one of the best of us. Humanity will carry her legacy to the stars and beyond. theguardian.com/science/2026…

This is where the CEO of Flock, apparently lives. He promotes mass surveillance and says he doesn't want to get publicly exposed.

Update: we found the island. After briefly becoming one of Canada's most famous islands and making international headlines, the floating island on Williston Reservoir has been found. Turns out it wasn't missing. Just drifting. All told, it travelled about 30 km in 15 days before coming to rest along the shoreline of the Ospika Arm. Mystery solved? Not quite. While we now know where it is, we're still learning more about how it formed and how it came to drift across the reservoir. We'll keep following the story and sharing what we learn.

What they can impeach Trump for: The broadest defensible list, with overlapping charges consolidated, is: Defying federal courts / obstruction of justice. This includes allegations that the administration disregarded judicial orders involving deportations and due process. A federal judge actually found probable cause for criminal contempt over the administration's failure to comply with an order stopping deportation flights. Denial of constitutional due process. Deporting or attempting to deport people without adequate opportunity to challenge the government's allegations, including use of the Alien Enemies Act, has appeared repeatedly in the impeachment articles. Unconstitutional detention and deportation. H.Res. 1155 specifically charges “serial unconstitutional detentions and deportations,” including actions allegedly based on ethnicity or political opposition. Retaliation against protected speech. This encompasses actions against protesters, universities, students, lawyers and others because of political expression. Federal courts have struck down Trump's executive orders targeting several law firms as unconstitutional retaliation, and a federal judge recently ruled that the administration's efforts to deport noncitizens for pro-Palestinian political advocacy violated the First and Fifth Amendments. Weaponizing federal law enforcement against political opponents. H.Res. 1155 accuses Trump of using investigations, prosecutions, security-clearance powers and other government authority against people he considers enemies or critics. Using law enforcement to benefit political allies. The same article cites interventions benefiting allies, including the attempted dismissal of the Eric Adams prosecution. Usurping Congress's power of the purse. Trump has been accused of withholding congressionally appropriated money, redirecting money to purposes Congress did not authorize and spending outside congressional authorization. H.Res. 353 and H.Res. 1155 both make this an impeachment charge. Illegal impoundment of federal funds. This one has evidence beyond partisan allegations: the Government Accountability Office has issued multiple findings that Trump-administration agencies violated the Impoundment Control Act, including actions involving NIH, Head Start, FEMA and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Unlawfully dismantling or crippling agencies and programs created by Congress. USAID, consumer-protection, worker-protection and environmental programs feature prominently. A federal judge found Musk and DOGE's attempt to dismantle USAID likely unconstitutional. Creation or empowerment of an allegedly unlawful DOGE structure. H.Res. 353 specifically alleged that Trump gave Elon Musk governmental power without constitutionally required appointment or congressional authorization. Unlawful firing of inspectors general. H.Res. 1155 alleges Trump violated the Inspectors General Act when he removed at least 17 inspectors general without providing Congress the statutory advance notice and substantive justification. Suspending or dispensing with laws enacted by Congress. This is the broader constitutional accusation underlying several of those actions: treating statutes as optional executive preferences rather than laws the president has a duty to faithfully execute. Unauthorized war-making. Trump has been formally accused of usurping Congress's Article I war power. H.Res. 537 specifically sought impeachment over initiating military action against Iran without congressional authorization; H.Res. 1155 later broadened the accusation considerably. War-power abuses involving killings and alleged piracy. H.Res. 1155's unusually strong Article I is literally titled “War Power Murder Piracy” and alleges unauthorized military killings, attacks and seizure of Venezuelan oil. Those are allegations contained in an impeachment resolution, not criminal convictions. Militarizing domestic law enforcement. H.Res. 1155 accuses Trump of improperly deploying the National Guard and using military forces domestically in Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland, Washington and elsewhere to intimidate or suppress protest. Abusing emergency powers. The impeachment articles accuse Trump of declaring questionable national emergencies including the border and energy emergencies as mechanisms for circumventing ordinary statutory restrictions and congressional authority. Abuse of tariff and trade powers. H.Res. 353 charged abuse of trade authority. That allegation gained considerably more legal weight after the Supreme Court ruled in 2026 that Trump's sweeping tariffs imposed under IEEPA were unlawful. Violating the Fourteenth Amendment's citizenship guarantee. H.Res. 1155 charges Trump over his attempt to restrict birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court subsequently struck down his broader 2025 citizenship policy as unconstitutional; Trump has since issued a narrower version that is again being litigated. Abuse of the pardon power. H.Res. 1155 specifically charges Trump with abusing presidential clemency, particularly the mass January 6 pardons and other pardons allegedly benefiting political supporters or donors. The article argues that lawful constitutional powers themselves can be exercised corruptly and therefore become impeachable abuses. Bribery and corruption. H.Res. 353 explicitly contains an article titled “Bribery and Corruption,” alleging corrupt use of presidential power, dismissal of cases, foreign benefits and settlements benefiting Trump politically or personally. These allegations have not all been judicially established. Foreign and domestic Emoluments Clause violations / presidential self-enrichment. H.Res. 1155 charges Trump with retaining business interests while president and receiving benefits from people or foreign interests with business before the U.S. government. Contempt of Congress and obstruction of congressional oversight. H.Res. 1155 contains an article called “Contempt of Congress Secret Government,” accusing the administration of withholding information Congress requires to exercise oversight. Threatening members of Congress. After six Democratic lawmakers released a video reminding military personnel that they must refuse illegal orders, Trump called their conduct “seditious behavior” and “punishable by death,” while reposting comments supporting their execution. H.Res. 939 made this a formal impeachment charge. The White House later said Trump did not actually want the lawmakers executed. Intimidation of federal judges / attacking judicial independence. H.Res. 939's second article accused Trump of using presidential influence and rhetoric to intimidate judges and undermine the independent judiciary. Federal judges have also reported dramatically increased threats and security concerns during this period. Abuse of ICE and CBP authority. The newest resolution, H.Res. 1486 filed August 24, 2026, alleges Trump transformed ICE and CBP into unaccountable paramilitary-style forces operating with secrecy, anonymity and insufficient oversight. Fourth Amendment violations through immigration enforcement. H.Res. 1486 specifically alleges warrantless entries, unreasonable searches and seizures, masked or unidentified officers and excessive force under Trump's immigration crackdown. Suppression of speech and press by immigration authorities. The same resolution accuses ICE and CBP of violating First Amendment rights. Separate federal litigation has produced findings that immigration enforcement was being used unconstitutionally against political expression. Racially targeted arrests and denial of equal protection. H.Res. 1486 alleges discriminatory immigration enforcement violating the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. Again, that's a congressional allegation requiring investigation/adjudication rather than a judicial finding against Trump personally. Covering up allegedly unjustified killings by immigration officers. H.Res. 1486 names the deaths of Renée Good, Alex Pretti, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, alleging Trump and administration officials defended the officers, obstructed state/local investigations or spread false accounts of the incidents. These are among the newest and most serious allegations, and they remain contested. Broader authoritarian abuse of presidential power. H.Res. 415 and portions of several other resolutions frame the cumulative pattern court defiance, retaliation, bypassing Congress, politicized law enforcement and concentration of executive authority as an independent impeachable abuse of office or “tyrannical overreach.” COURT DEFIANCE • DUE-PROCESS VIOLATIONS • ILLEGAL DEPORTATIONS • FIRST-AMENDMENT RETALIATION • WEAPONIZED DOJ • UNAUTHORIZED WARS • DOMESTIC MILITARY DEPLOYMENTS • ILLEGAL IMPOUNDMENTS • USURPING CONGRESS'S SPENDING POWER • ABUSING EMERGENCY POWERS • ABUSING PARDONS • FIRING WATCHDOGS • UNCONSTITUTIONAL BIRTHRIGHT-CITIZENSHIP ATTACKS • CORRUPTION & EMOLUMENTS • CONGRESSIONAL OBSTRUCTION • THREATS AGAINST LAWMAKERS • INTIMIDATION OF JUDGES • ICE/CBP CIVIL-RIGHTS ABUSES • ALLEGED COVERUPS OF FEDERAL KILLINGS
