The second man to ever walk on the moon came home and ended up selling Cadillacs at a dealership in Beverly Hills.
Buzz Aldrin was 39 when he stepped onto the moon in 1969. About two years later he was sitting in an Air Force doctor's office in San Antonio, telling someone for the first time that he was depressed. By the end of the '70s he'd been through two divorces and a drinking problem that nearly killed him.
If you've ever hit a big goal and felt weirdly flat a week later, you've had a tiny version of what happened to him. And there's a real reason for it.
Back in the '90s a neuroscientist named Wolfram Schultz recorded single dopamine neurons in monkeys while giving them juice. When the juice came out of nowhere, the neurons lit up. Then he started flashing a light right before the juice, and pretty quickly the monkeys figured out what the light meant. The neurons started firing at the light instead. The juice itself, the thing they actually wanted, didn't get a spike anymore. And if the light flashed and no juice showed up, the neurons dropped below normal.
So your brain cashes in on the dream the moment it starts looking real. By the time you actually get there, it already spent the money, and the only thing left that can still surprise you is losing it.
That's the anxiety this guy is talking about, the one about making it and becoming somebody, and every one of us is walking around with that wiring.
Jim Carrey learned this the hard way. He was the first actor Hollywood ever paid $20 million for one movie, and in 2005 he told a reporter he wished everybody could get rich and famous and get everything they ever dreamed of, just so they could see it's not the answer.
Honestly, the oldest version of this video is in the Bible. Ecclesiastes is written as a king in Jerusalem looking back on his life. He built houses, planted vineyards, dug pools and stacked up silver and gold, and then he called all of it hevel. He uses that word 38 times. It means vapor, like your breath on a cold morning that's gone in a second. Most English Bibles just say "vanity."
My favorite part comes in chapter 9. He tells you to eat your bread with joy, and a few verses later he says "whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might." The guy who called everything vapor still told you to go all in.
Aldrin got sober in 1978 and spent the decades after that trying to get people to Mars, chasing the next big thing without needing it to make him somebody.

Witnessing a Pakistani and a Nigerian fight over who should protect the homeland of White British people was not on my bucket list for 2026.
Shabana has made a serious mistake surrendering to Labour MPs. So I’m putting people on notice - when we get into government we will scrap this weak policy.
Immigration is too high. Labour are making a bad situation much, much worse.
The Conservative Party is under new management. I accept this problem started under a previous Conservative govt. Many of those in that Cabinet have gone to Reform where they belong.
And I’ve got a proper plan to fix it👇

Employees work hard and hit big milestones for firms. Every year they help employers make more profit than previous years. Their rewarded is pizza and drinks in the kitchen area for 30-60 minutes then back to their desks. If you’re lucky to get a bonus then HMRC comes knocking

On Davido & VDM. I have my thoughts together now.
It's no longer news that Davido, despite being one of the biggest superstars out of Africa somehow knows how to bring ant-infested rotting wood into his house.
A lot of you attribute it to "humility" but it really isn't - it is a psychological pattern I'll call maladaptive approval seeking disorder. It is the kleptomaniac version of validation hunting.
You know how kleptomaniacs are wired - it doesn't matter how much they are fed, how much wealth they're born into, how much of money they have access to - they NEED to steal to satisfy an urge.
That's how people with maladaptive approval seeking disorders behave.
It doesn't matter how many people cheer them up, the strength of their fanbase, how much love they get - they never seem to run out of the thirst for validation even if its from nonentities.
Davido, as an embodiment of this disorder, cannot stomach the fact that there are people who don't like him or don't necessarily fuck with him - to him, how is that possible? This is why he wants to be the knight posturing as someone's savior publicly even though he intends to ghost them (Madrina), buys the loyalty of presumed internet popular nuisances just to feed that disorder - like a kleptomaniac would.
It is a deep seated insecurity that predisposes him to eventual disrespect. In reality, he doesn't even rate himself. He doesn't enjoy who he is or what he has, unless he has to smash it in someone's face.
The disrespect he's getting, he actually deserves - because the very reason he associated with those nuisances in the first place was to use them as internet weapons in his media fights.
It is also poetically hilarious that my analogy for this tweet is the psychology of kleptomaniacs because he's also a thief, too.
Long may the disrespect continue.

My husband’s ex-wife called me one afternoon and asked me to send her money for their son’s school fees.
I was surprised because my husband had always told me he was responsible for his son’s expenses.
“Why are you calling me? Your son’s father should be the one paying,” I told her.
She sounded exhausted.
“I’ve been trying to reach him, but he’s not answering my calls. The school has given us until Friday, and I don’t know what else to do.”
I promised to speak to my husband and ended the call.
When he came home that evening, I told him what had happened.
He immediately became uncomfortable.
“Please don’t send her any money,” he said.
“Why? It’s for your son. And why isn’t she able to reach you?”
He sighed.

My wife and I had been having serious problems for months. We barely spoke we had even started discussing separation.
Then her father died.
A few days before the funeral, she came to me and said, Please, I need you to stand beside me and act like everything is fine between us.

Sometimes, the smallest decisions end up having the biggest consequences. A seemingly insignificant choice can alter the entire course of your life in ways you could never have anticipated.

Please learn detachment.
Quit treating one person like they're the air you breathe. You completely fall apart once they walk away. You cannot eat, sleep or work. That isn't what love is supposed to be. That straight up feels like being held hostage.
Yes, fall in love, create amazing memories and care for them. However, always remember that at any point they could pack their things away and leave. You need to be capable to move on with your life.
They could change their mind at any point. Feelings can fade. All of the sudden you’re no longer good enough & promises run out. The person who promised that they would never leave you, is now a total stranger.
To put it simply, detachment just means being able to look someone in the eye and say, I love you and if you choose to lose me, that is entirely your problem to deal with. If you decide to go find someone else to take my place, best of luck to you. And if you stab me in the back, you just made my decision to walk away that much easier
Never allow someone to be you whole world. Because when they leave (and they most likely will), you’re accidently losing your whole life.
Get used to people leaving.
Don’t beg them to stay. Don’t text them lengthy messages at 3am. Don’t check up on them on social media all day. Don’t ruin your life because they decided they could live without you.
Fall in love with them with everything you’ve got. Be loyal, be the best version of yourself. But always be strong. Because you can say;
“This is hurting me so much but I’m going to push on.”
Remember, they can leave. They can forget about you. They can find someone to replace you. But you will never be allowed to give up on yourself.
