I have a confession to make. I wrote a book to help make economic cycles more clear to the typical person and am in the final edit now. Due to this, I just launched a new Substack as an accompaniment. Welcome to The Rhythm of the System. open.substack.com/pub/rhythm…

Pretty much. As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue. That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

This is a great and very informative write-up on some warning signs for high growth stocks/companies. Thanks to @thedave2006 for reposting and bringing it to my attention!
In my latest, I examine five famous growth stocks that crashed and look at the warning signs investors could have seen before the damage was done. Read below.

Reminder that the issues with AI has nothing to do with demand or the growth of AI companies. The issues are lack of power for data centers and rapidly rising debt costs. You don't grow your way out of those with more AI demand and higher valuations. the-economy-tracker.beehiiv.…

Aside from the fact that he doesn't understand how credit cycles work, stating that markets are being "disingenuous" has to be one of the worst/funniest takes I've ever seen. 😂 When we send people to DC, we are clearly not sending our best. FFS 🤦‍♂️
On Oct 1 the S&P500 closed at 7666 with 10yr yields at 5.24%. Today the S&P500 closed at 7663 with 10yr yields at 4.95%. Attributing the sharp yield moves of late to “risk-off” price action seems highly disingenuous - especially when the S&P500 sits a mere 1.5% below its record highs.

It's going to be hilarious and piss off so many housing doomers when the economy eventually gets saved by the housing market. We may be months away from that scenario, but I'm really looking forward to it. 😃

B f'n D right here as it is clear that the AI infrastructure build is carrying current economic growth.
GE Vernova $GEV is one of the most important stocks in the AI trade. It provides the backbone for the energy required to power the data centers. It's currently down 30% from its highs and is breaking down from a topping pattern.
