With an impressive turnout of 21 (!) enthusiastic players, the event surpassed our expectations. 🙌
Chess(dot)com must be really backed up on cheating reports right now. Haven't heard anything back on the last 5 or 6 reports I've made.
Current theory: spaced repetition (e.g. drilling lines) is overrated for opening improvement. Better to just go through lines slowly and read notes carefully.
Of course, this is easier to do on Chessable than it is with physical books. Just going to skip the SRS for a while.
Was watching a YT video yesterday of Hikaru playing Titled Tuesday. My son was also watching.
Just now, he says, “I want to watch that chatty guy again. The one who says everything he’s thinking. Even if it’s not about chess. He was funny.” 😂
My 9yo son was looking over my shoulder as I played blitz on my phone.
“Your queen is in danger,” he whispers as I play this move.
Then right after: “I told you. Gotta protect that queen, dad. It’s the best piece.”
