I was once at an academic conference in the US in the mid-2010s and someone brought up legal standards for drone attacks bc “what are you going to do? Put Obama in jail?” And everyone laughed but I loudly said “yes”. I’ll never forget the way that room went dead-quiet 😂

JEV and SystemOne is one of the more sinister applications of AI. Not only will it codify biases, it will stochastically implement them. You can run it a million times and get a result that is 97% confident every time, it will still be wrong some of those times.
