Body shaming is not a joke just because you laughed after saying it.
Some of you will see a plus-size woman and immediately start making comments about her weight. You see a slim woman and start asking if she is suffering. Someone has acne, stretch marks, a big stomach, small breasts, or a body that doesn’t fit your personal preference, and suddenly you feel entitled to make them feel uncomfortable in their own skin.
Why? Who taught you that someone’s physical appearance is an invitation for your opinion?
The painful part is that some people will make these comments in public, laugh about them, and then tell the person, “Don’t take it seriously, I’m only joking.”
