My man.
How we doin today furus? Selling leaps to buy calls going well? Selling 5 delta puts going well? We still happy with the strikes we picked where we would love to own the stock? This is not free money. Currently long 1150 delta which is 1.01x. And it does not feel good.

This is how you do it! 😂
When an @optionsuncapped earnings play doesn’t work as expected. It’s time to take the same trade. Selling a $GOOGL December 35 delta put. 👀🙈

Have to live on the high probability side..!
Daily Options Selling wisdom from the pros, day 5 Dr. Jim Schultz on the tradeoff that comes with every high probability trade. His example has a 57% probability of profit, which is what premium sellers want. But "for every gimme, there is indeed a gotcha." The gotcha here is that "you're risking $300 to make $200," about $1.50 to make a dollar. "Sadly, there is no holy grail," he says. "It always is going to be a trade off." So "you have to decide which side of the probability coin you want to live on." His pick: "I personally like to live on the high probability coin because I think it makes for a better foundation." Same side of the coin for me. Selling strangles means I win more often than I lose, but the losers are bigger than the winners. That's why closing at 50% and keeping position size small matters so much. The win rate only works if one bad trade can't wipe out a month of good ones. @tastyliveshow @optionsuncapped

Dr. Jim retweeted
Daily wisdom from the pros, day 2 Dr. Jim Schultz on why he'd rather sell vol than buy it cheap. Buying low vol sounds smart, but he says it's "a really difficult trade to make actually because you can see it loves to live on that lower end of the range." It can sit there "weeks and months and months and months" without giving you the expansion you need. So his core stance: "I feel far more comfortable selling volatility when it's high." This is how I run my trades now as well. I wait for a spike, sell premium on names I'd happily own, and let vol come back down. This options sellers' edge imo. @tastyliveshow @tastytrade @optionsuncapped

Look at our boy dropping truth 💣
Good time to reminded that when you match for size, not only are short puts not riskier than long stock. They are LESS risky than long stock. You have the OTM distance the stock has to cover first AND you have the premiums offsetting your basis from the jump.

You have to know what you're signing up for. S&P 500 -1.5% and Nasdaq -2% Running 2x leverage? Pretty modest. But -3% and -4% is what's coming for you. Running 3x leverage? Still not crazy imo. But -4.5% and -6% is what's coming for you. If you're going to use your leverage, you don't get the gimmes of great returns without the gotchas of greater swings.

The stock sits still. Your long call loses value anyway. That’s a frustrating way to wait. Dr. Jim Schultz @optionsuncapped adds a short call. In his example, the odds move from 40/60 to nearly 50/50, while daily theta drag almost disappears. Would you make that tradeoff?
