My town in Palestine was attacked again. Palestinians went out to harvest their own olive trees. Settlers showed up with the IOF, threw gas bombs at them, stole their olives, and stole the village council head’s car. Every single person should have eyes on the West Bank rn.
All three Palestinian-led grassroots organizations in NYC, Within Our Lifetime, Pal-Awda, and the Palestinian Youth Movement, have endorsed the protests against Mamdani, stood behind the student protesters, and uplifted the demands of the broader movement. The Palestinian grassroots movement in NYC has made its position clear.

We warned you about NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
When Mamdani announced he was keeping her as NYPD Commissioner, we organized over 100 organizations to oppose her appointment and laid out her record of racist policing, mass surveillance, repression of protesters, and collaboration with Israeli occupation forces.
These demands came from the streets, from the communities that have been subjected to this violence for years. The movement was right to oppose Tisch then, and we’re right to demand her resignation now.
We are recirculating our statement and calling on every organization that has not yet signed to add its name.
TISCH OUT. DISBAND THE SRG. ABOLISH ICE.

Three years of Genocide.
May we never normalize the indiscriminate slaughter of our people. May our hearts never become hardened to what we have witnessed.
May Allah protect our brothers and sisters in Palestine and keep us steadfast in the pursuit of their liberation.

Fuck you and your war criminal friends.
Every person that launders war criminals is complicit. Muslim and Palestinian orgs in particular that elevate these people must be held accountable.
It is my honor and privilege to announce that President @BarackObama is joining us on the trail in Detroit on Saturday, October 24.
Get. Ready.

Anyone who told Palestinians that Mamdani was going to deliver for our movement, especially anyone who peddled the fantasy that he was going to arrest Netanyahu, has no business lecturing us about political strategy.
They weren’t simply mistaken. They were told, repeatedly, why their analysis was wrong, and many of them attacked the people saying so as cynical “purity testers.”
Now they get to call themselves hopeful optimists while we’re treated as unreasonable for having correctly assessed the limits of a politician’s promises.
At a certain point, “naivety” stops being an excuse. If you ignored every warning, dismissed every criticism and sold people promises that were never going to materialize, either you were being deliberately disingenuous or your political instincts are terrible.
Neither qualifies you to lecture the people who saw it coming.

“My son didn’t die in vain. This was his sacrifice for our homeland, for Palestine.” These were the words of Amal Al-Durrah, mother of 12-year-old Muhammad Al-Durrah, following his martyrdom on September 30, 2000.
26 years ago today right after the Al-Aqsa Intifada began two days earlier, Muhammad was murdered in cold blood in Gaza by occupation forces as his father held him in his arms.
Footage of Muhammad’s final moments as his father attempted to shield him was captured by Palestinian cameraman Talal Abu Rahma and broadcast around the world by the news outlet France 2, sparking global outrage and condemnation.
Talal Abu Rahma later recounted, “There were a lot of calls and investigations with me about how true the images were. I had one answer for them. The camera doesn’t lie.”
On October 15, 2023, 23 years after Muhammad was murdered, Jamal Al-Durrah’s other son, two of his bothers, his sister-in-law and his niece were murdered in an airstrike by the genocidal zionist entity in which more than fifty of his family members were massacred.
Today we join Palestinians across Palestine and around the world in honoring Muhammad Al-Durrah and all of Palestine’s martyrs. In their memory the struggle for liberation and return within our lifetime continues.

This is how movements get defanged.
We elect someone because of demands created by years of organizing, then suddenly protecting that politician becomes more important than protecting the demands.
The politician becomes the movement instead of being accountable to it.

I genuinely need people to understand what they are being asked to normalize here.
Mamdani campaigned on arresting Netanyahu.
Today Netanyahu came to NYC, received massive police protection, and anti-genocide protesters were arrested by the NYPD.

So this performative nonsense is meant to distract from the fact that hundreds of NYPD vehicles escorted Netanyahu to the UN today, giving him a grander welcome than most, if not all, heads of state. Meanwhile the NYPD was arresting anti-genocide protesters in the streets.
A far cry from campaigning on arresting Netanyahu. Now he won’t arrest him, won’t protest him, and says he doesn’t even encourage New Yorkers to protest.
But peace & olive trees 🫒✌️

As someone who has organized protests in NYC, including outside the UN, for many years, I think UNGA is a good reminder that you don’t need an organization to protest.
The NYPD creates “frozen zones” around the UN, with rolling street closures as delegations and motorcades move throughout the city.
That’s exactly why affinity groups, collectives and individuals organizing autonomously from multiple points can be more effective than concentrating everyone at one mass protest blocks away, especially one happening hours after someone is scheduled to speak.
Protesters can be present throughout the surrounding area, from as many accessible directions as possible, for hours leading up to a speech. UNGA already brings Midtown traffic to a crawl, historically under 4 mph. More people converging on the area means more congestion and disruption around an event that depends on moving motorcades through Manhattan.
If your goal is to protest Netanyahu’s presence, why wait until after he speaks? Be there all morning. Be there before he arrives. Make his presence impossible for the city to ignore.

Even before becoming mayor, Mamdani didn’t protest Netanyahu at the UN General Assembly last year, and now he says he won’t join protests against him this year either.
I don’t understand how someone who campaigned on arresting Netanyahu can now punt the issue to the federal government without even protesting him, while hosting Trump at Gracie Mansion.
But hey, maybe this is the 8D chess y’all have been talking about. Maybe he’ll convince Trump to arrest Netanyahu at Gracie Mansion and I’ll eat my words.
I’m really so disgusted, as Netanyahu is saying he’s going to finish the job in Gaza, Mamdani didn’t even protest him when he was in NYC a few days ago for the general assembly, a far cry from his previous calls to arrest him.
But for those who still defend this and don’t realize how harmful it is to Palestinians here’s a breakdown:
He begins with “I condemn Hamas, of course.” By leading with this, he sets the stage that any discussion about Palestine must start with denouncing Palestinian resistance. That “of course” is especially insidious, it normalizes the expectation that condemning resistance is the baseline, unquestionable position.
He calls Oct. 7 “a horrific war crime.” This treats an act of resistance against a colonizer as equivalent to the ongoing structural violence of settler colonialism. It accepts the lies that Israel has brainwashed the world with to manufacture consent for genocide. The framing strips the event of its context, 75+ years of occupation, dispossession, massacres, siege, and turns it into a crime in isolation.
He then says, “the same set of beliefs… led me to describe what’s happening in Gaza as genocide.” This ties his recognition of genocide to the same “principled” framework that led him to condemn Palestinian resistance. It creates a false equivalence: as if condemning Hamas and condemning Israeli genocide flow from the same universal principle of international law.
But genocide and resistance cannot be equated. One is the annihilation of a people. The other is the struggle of the colonized to survive.
This is especially harmful as he positions himself as morally consistent and principled, but in practice he legitimizes Zionist narratives. By lumping Palestinian resistance and Israeli genocide together under the banner of “universal law,” he erases the material imbalance of power, Palestinians are being annihilated, Israel is the annihilator.
This rhetoric gives cover to liberals and Zionists alike: they can point to him and say, “See, even your allies condemn Hamas while acknowledging genocide. This is the reasonable middle ground. But that “middle ground” is built on dehumanizing Palestinians, stripping them of the right to resist their annihilation.
Zohran’s statement is insidious because it weaponizes the language of universality and human rights to flatten colonizer and colonized, resistance and genocide, into the same moral category. That false equivalence misrepresents reality and actively strengthens the Zionist framework at the very moment Palestinians most need their humanity affirmed.

Omar has spent the last three years helping publicize and spread the campaigns of so many struggling Palestinian families - let’s support his today: chuffed.org/project/help-oma…
I am currently supporting 22 members of my family. For a very long time, I haven’t asked for help; instead, I was trying to support many other families by sharing their campaigns on my page. But now, I am the one in need of help, as our circumstances are becoming increasingly difficult.
I full-heartedly hope that you will support me and my family.
Please, donate and share the campaign.

How little empathy some people who identify themselves as aligned with Palestinian liberation - and opposed to the genocide - will extend to Palestinians in the diaspora is always to be noted.
What do you think happens to a person watching the children of their nation be shredded and maimed? What happens to their mental health, their previously held inhibitions, their capacity for restraint, in a world that has demanded they accept those conditions as normal? What happens to their language? Their heart, mind, soul and relationships?
What happens to their sense of ‘propriety,’ and to their willingness to extend “grace” to people who defend those funding, enabling, and cheering the destruction of their people?
Dehumanization doesn’t require bullets, bombs, starvation and policy positions - its most brutal form is when it is mundane and hidden behind self-aggrandizing righteousness & judgement.

Gaza has the highest per capita rate of child amputees in the world.
More than 5,000 traumatic limb amputations have been estimated since October 2023, as a result of Israeli attacks carried out by soldiers like the one Adidas chose to model for them.
Adidas has featured Israeli soldier Shaliv Biton, who took part in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, to promote its Single Shoe service which allows customers who need only one shoe to purchase it for half the price of a pair.

This family is living through the worst kinds of poverty and hunger; they are in desperate need of money. Their tent is completely worn out, and their living conditions are heartbreaking and oppressive.
Ahmad is a deaf young man with five children who are in dire need of food and clothing—their clothes are torn, and they have no food.
I beg you a million times to help them. Every donation, no matter how small, can improve their living conditions.
Please donate and share this campaign.
The situation that Ahmed, the deaf man, is living in is extremely, extremely harsh. His tent is barely a tent — torn and very worn out, with water seeping in from everywhere, both from the roof and the ground.
He has a family of seven, and they are living under extremely difficult conditions. He has no money at all and cannot even afford to buy food for his children.
I beg you a million times, please donate to him and share the campaign.
