Posted this as a warning over 7 years ago, here and there. As an answer to why a ledger device is not necessarily the safest thing in the world. Feels pretty relevant today as people are losing money via tampered ledger devices.

Rick Rescorla, Morgan Stanley's head of security and a decorated Vietnam veteran, had spent years warning that the towers were vulnerable, running evacuation drills nobody wanted to take seriously.
When the first plane hit, he ignored orders to stay put. Bullhorn in hand, he calmly directed employees down the stairwells floor by floor, singing old Cornish war songs to keep everyone calm as they descended.
Nearly everyone made it out. He went back in to search for stragglers still inside, and never came out himself.
His wife's last words to him on the phone: "Please get out." His response: "As soon as I make sure everyone else is out." 💔

I remember being in history class when the news broke. When I came home I hung up the only flag I owned, the American one.
It's a day no one will forget. The heroic actions that day permanently restored people's faith in humanity.
