Idk i just feel like when ao3 is back up I need everybody to be heaps more graceful towards fic writers because if two weeks without their works is painful then maybe we shouldn't be discoursing weekly about how much you think they suck at writing.

most fic writers don’t want engagement to “get famous” or anything. it’s just that when you put your heart into something, it feels good to know people liked and enjoyed it. it also helps motivation to write more. if you ignore fic writers, there won’t be any more fics to read🤷♀️

People giving AO3 shit should read up on what happened to the British Library after its cyberattack. A major national institution with government backing and more funds had services disrupted for MONTHS.
AO3 is run largely by volunteers. Be serious.

As a writer, I acknowledge that my fics are downloadable and therefore spreadable using Ao3. I just don’t think it’s asking much for people to return to Ao3 & leave a kudos if they enjoyed the fic. Especially since so many of y’all act like you can’t go an entire day without it.
