This is why most people with CIRS/mold toxicity have low α-MSH and get fatter (+ why KPV helps). Biotoxins trigger a non-stop release of inflammatory cytokines. These cytokines travel to the brain and physically block the leptin receptors in the hypothalamus (the body's master control center). Because the hypothalamus is inflamed and blocked, it completely loses the ability to manufacture the precursor chemicals needed to make α-MSH. But the sun alone in these cases won't cut it. In a healthy person, sunlight on the skin and eyes signals the brain to make α-MSH (read the article below). In CIRS, the signaling mechanism works, but the actual factory in the brain is broken (no matter how much UV light hits the body, it cannot clear the physical cytokine blockade or remove the biotoxins from the hypothalamus).
Mold exposure can cook your hormones, brain and can lead to symptoms such as: -Memory loss -Trouble with focus and concentration -Confusion -Disorientation -Mood swings -Depression -Anxiety -Chronic fatigue -Trouble sleeping -Irritability Now, overall, we are all exposed to various kinds of mold. We are concerned with certain types that release mycotoxins such as: -Aflatoxins such as aflatoxin B1 that are produced by Aspergillus species. -Ochratoxins such as ochratoxin A that is produced by Aspergillus and Penicillium sp. -Trichothecenes that encompass about 100 subtypes of metabolites from Fusarium species. -Zearalenone that is produced by Fusarium species. -Fumonisins that are metabolites produced by Fusarium species. -Ergotamine / Ergot alkaloids that are compounds created by Claviceps species. that can cause anything from cancer, infertility, G.I issues, MCAs, kidney disease all the way to mitochondrial dysfunction (fatigue to put it simply) and eczema once they are: 1. Ingested (most common route of exposure) 2.Inhalated 3. Or contacted with the skin In case you are skeptical of this topic, here are two examples (tap in the pics) that demonstrate its importance. Number 1: 93% of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) patients are shown to have mycotoxins in their urine. Not 1%, not 10%, not 50% but 93%. Number 2: A Polish study found that children exposed to indoor mold for over two years had IQ scores approximately 10 points lower than their peers. 10 points.... Now detoxing from mycotoxins, particularly those produced in water-damaged environments, requires a multi-faceted approach. Here are some basic steps you can consider. Step 1: Confirm mycotoxin exposure. Use environmental testing methods like ERMI or PCR-based mold testing to identify mold species in your living or working environment. Note: You can also test for mycotoxins such as aflatoxins, OTA and trichothecenes in dust or air samples, though these tests may not always be conclusive due to variability in sampling. Testing for AFB1, OTA, ZEA, DON and FB1/FB2. -Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1): Measure urinary AFB1-N7-guanine adducts and serum AFM1 levels. -Ochratoxin A (OTA): Test for urinary OTA and ochratoxin α (OTα). -Zearalenone (ZEA): Check urinary ZEA and α-zearalenol (α-ZOL) levels. -Deoxynivalenol (DON): Assess urinary DON, DON-glucuronides (DON-3-glucuronide, DON-15-glucuronide), and DOM-1. -Fumonisins (FB1/FB2): Urinary FB1 can be measured. Additional testing for polymorphisms in glutathione S-transferases and cytochrome P450 enzymes might also be helpful. Step 2: Eliminate ongoing exposure. Remove the mold (this includes from your furniture and clothes (you might have to throw some away))+ add a dehumidifier or get away from the contaminated environment if possible. Then, reduce dietary exposure by avoiding high-risk foods. Here’s a list. -Aflatoxin B1: Maize, rice, peanuts, pistachios, wheat, pork, sorghum, barley, oats, hazelnuts, almonds, dried fruits, cacao, cottonseed, sunflower seeds, chili peppers, coffee. -OTA: Same as AFB1, plus wine, beer, and grape juice. -ZEA: Maize, wheat, barley, oats, rye, rice, sorghum. -DON: Maize, rice, peanuts, pistachios, wheat, sorghum, barley, pork, oats. -Fumonisins: Maize, wheat, barley, pork, oats, rye, rice, sorghum. Also make sure to reduce exposure to other xenobiotics (pesticides, heavy metals, VOCs, fragrances) to lower total body burden, as these can exacerbate mycotoxin toxicity. Also use air purifiers with HEPA and activated carbon filters to reduce indoor airborne mycotoxins and VOCs. And another tip is to shop locally. When it comes to grains and dried fruit, for example some may have fungal problems in the field but plenty of them grow mold during storage and shipping. Step 3: Support detoxification pathways with: -Glutathione: Mycotoxins like AFB1, OTA, and ZEA form reactive metabolites (AFB1-8,9-epoxide, OTA quinones) that are detoxified by glutathione conjugation via GSTs (GSTM1, GSTT1, GSTA1). Glutathione deficiency is common in mycotoxin-exposed individuals and exacerbates toxicity. Important note: Use with sequestering to prevent toxin mobilization without excretion. -Sequestering agents: Non-absorbable binders reduce enterohepatic recirculation of mycotoxins (by binding them in the gut, enhancing fecal excretion. 1. Cholestyramine (CSM): Binds OTA and endotoxins effectively, reducing plasma levels. 2. Activated charcoal: High affinity for AFB1, OTA, and DON, acting as a multimycotoxin binder. 3. Sodium bentonite: Reduces AFB1 bioavailability without affecting nutrient absorption. 4. Chlorella/Chlorophyllin: Binds AFB1 and reduces carcinogenicity. Step 4: Work on bile/gut. healthlibrary.substack.com/p… Step 5: Get in the sun / IR sauna and big 6. 90% of mold-exposed patients have low levels of a-MSH for example. Now POMC is a precursor polypeptide primarily produced in the pituitary gland, the skin and the hypothalamus. It gets cleaved into crucial peptides like a-MSH, ACTH, CLIP, Gamma-MSH and beta-endorphin by enzymes like prohormone convertases (PC1/3 and PC2). Its expression and upregulation is influenced by a variety of physiological, environmental and molecular factors one of them being: UV light exposure (especially UVB (280–320 nm)) that stimulates POMC expression in keratinocytes and melanocytes in the skin (up to 30% increase). When UVB light penetrates the skin, it causes DNA damage in keratinocytes, activating the tumor suppressor protein p53 and UVA (320–400 nm) activates photoreceptors like neuropsin (OPN5) which further enhances POMC expression. Now when a key cleavage products of POMC is Alpha-MSH (Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone) This one is expressed mainly in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus and nucleus tractus solitarius of the brainstem and stimulates melanocytes to produce eumelanin, inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, TNF-alpha, improves our libido (melanotan I and II Synthetic analogs of α-MSH), regulates our appetite, and supports our immune system and brain. So, in order to optimize a-msh focus on: -Morning sunlight exposure (10–30 minutes). -Managing stress (it can reduce alpha-MSH production by 25% in animal models) -Minimizing blue light at night. -Cold exposure (in mice it can increases POMC expression by even 25%). -Managing stress to prevent ACTH dominance. -Supporting nutrition with tyrosine, vitamin C, zinc and copper in order to enhance prohormone convertase activity Note 1: KPV is the c-terminal active analogue of alpha-MSH. Note 2: Some people might have to work on stabilizing mast cells as well before step 8. Step 6: Melatonin max. How does the body produce melatonin? In a nutshell: Melatonin is made from the aromatic amino acid tryptophan whose indole structure (a benzene ring fused to a pyrrole ring) contains a conjugated π-electron system that give it UV absorption and emission properties. Now the entire journey of melatonin production goes as follows: 1. The enzyme tryptophan hydroxylase, with help from cofactors like iron, BH4, and oxygen, converts tryptophan into 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). 2. A decarboxylase enzyme, aided by vitamin B6 (PLP), turns 5-HTP into serotonin. 3. Serotonin gets acetylated using acetyl-CoA, with an enzyme called serotonin N-acetyltransferase. 4. Finally, S-adenosyl methionine (SAM) methylates it into melatonin, with cofactors like B vitamins, magnesium, and zinc playing supporting roles. Tips: 1. Make sure that your days are bright (go outside). pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2987… . Block the artificial blue light. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2910… . Do not exercise intensely late in the day. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3016… 4. Chill with fasting. 5. Take care of the electron transport chain and the TCA cycle (get B vitamins, CoQ10, L-carnitine, K2 and magnesium). But there’s no need to overdo it with these either since “overdriving” the ETC or TCA with excessive supplements will increase ROS. 6. Add some fuji apples, tart cherry, goji berries, pineapple and kiwis in your diet. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2949… . Take care of your pineal gland by avoiding sodium fluoride, consuming boron, tamarid and molybdenum. 8. Avoid glyphosate. 9. Make sure to consume: magnesium, zinc, B6, B12, B9 and potassium. 10. And in case it’s not obvious, go to bed before 11p.m if it’s possible (ideally 10). Step 7: Consider the following additional tools. -Probiotics such as: 1. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG and L. casei Shirota: Reduce AFB1 and OTA bioaccessibility 2. Saccharomyces boulardii: Improves biochemical profiles in OTA-exposed animals. 3. Bifidobacterium species: Degrade DON to less toxic DOM-1. -Vitamin C and E: Inhibit AFB1-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) and restore GSH levels, as shown in human lymphocyte studies. -Go to sleep in a dark room: melatonin reduces OTA and AFB1-induced oxidative damage in animal studies. -Coenzyme Q10: Ameliorates OTA-induced tissue injury by restoring glutathione levels. -Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, kale) for sulforaphanes, which inhibit CYP3A4 and reduce AFB1 activation. -Apiaceous vegetables (carrots, parsley) also inhibit CYP1A2, reducing mycotoxin toxicity. Step 8: With the help of an M.D go through the typical intranasal amphotericin B, oral nystatin and binders. *Do not skip this part* Step 9: Re-test in 3-6 months. Now all of these tips are just based upon how mycotoxins are metabolized. Let’s take Aflatoxin B1 as an example. Phase I: Modification of AFB1 AFB1 is oxidized in the liver to form AFB1-8,9-epoxide with CYP1A2 and CYP3A4 being the the primary enzymes involved (CYP2A6 and CYP2B6 also contribute but to a lesser extent). AFB1-8,9-epoxide can be reduced to AFB1-diol by aldehyde reductases (e.g., AKR7A2), which is less reactive but can still cause oxidative stress. AFB1 can also be hydroxylated to form less toxic metabolites, such as AFM1 (by CYP1A2) or AFQ1 (by CYP3A4). These are less reactive but still excreted or conjugated in Phase II. AFB1 can also be demethylated to AFP1, a less toxic metabolite, by CYP2A6 or CYP3A4. Note: CYP3A4 variants such as CYP3A4*1B can increase epoxide production, enhancing toxicity. Phase II: Conjugation of AFB1. AFB1-8,9-epoxide is conjugated with glutathione (GSH) (*) to form AFB1-GSH conjugates, which are stable, water-soluble and readily excreted. This is the primary detoxification pathway. (*)glutathione S-transferases (GSTs), particularly GSTM1, GSTT1, and GSTA1, catalyze this reaction. GSTM1-null and GSTT1-null genotypes impair GSH conjugation, increasing AFB1-DNA adduct formation and carcinogenicity. Other conjugation pathways include Uridine-Diphosphate-Glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) that may conjugate hydroxylated metabolites (AFM1, AFQ1) to form glucuronides, enhancing excretion and sulfotransferases (SULTs) that have a imited role but may sulfate hydroxylated AFB1 metabolites in some species. Quinone reductase (NQO1) (non-conjugation) also reduces quinones formed during AFB1-induced oxidative stress, protecting against ROS and Epoxide Hydrolase (EPHX1) converts AFB1-8,9-epoxide to AFB1-diol, which is less reactive but can still contribute to toxicity if not conjugated. Phase III: Excretion of AFB1 ATP-Binding Cassette (ABC) transporters such as MRP2 (ABCC2) and MRP3 (ABCC3) transport AFB1-GSH conjugates and glucuronides into bile or blood for renal excretion. Organic Anion Transporting Polypeptides (OATPs) also facilitate uptake of AFB1 metabolites into hepatocytes or renal cells for processing and P-Glycoprotein (MDR1/ABCB1) may export AFB1 metabolites into bile. Then, AFB1-GSH conjugates and glucuronides are secreted into bile via MRP2, stored in the gallbladder, and excreted in feces and metabolites such as AFM1 and AFB1-GSH conjugates are filtered by the kidneys and excreted in urine. That’s all. After that, the approach is highly affected by genetics. A person with a cooked ABCC1 for example, will get PROFOUND brain fog from mold/mycotoxins since he will have a higher intracellular mycotoxin accumulation in the brain. While another person with a variant/s that reduce NQO1 activity (609C>T or P187S) will have WAY too many general symptoms and will probably be misdiagnosed. So even though the first things a person has to address are pretty similar, the “final” solution is highly dependent on each individual. One person can use nobiletin and eriodictyol for example, while another might not. Anyway, for more on toxins and brain health go here: fitandball.gumroad.com/l/bra…

We are aging at an accelerating speed due to herbicides like glyphosate. Glyphosate molecular mimics glycine in our skin tissue, destroying the elastic bond between our cells. Results: saggy, dropping, weak, thin, wrinkly complexion. This is why we need to rise of our levels of gelatine, collagen, aspic, jello, and especially soup intake!
The use of Glyphosate in the United States increased by approximately 593% from 1995 to 2014. Potential impacts on health: - neurotoxicity - oxidative stress - reproductive disruption - gut dysbiosis - known carcinogen - endocrine disruptor - acts like an antibiotic - mineral deficiencies - increase in allergic reactions. Glyphosate is a serious health concern. Here are 4 simple steps to reduce your exposure: 1- Choose organic produce, especially the "dirty dozen" 2 - Support regenerative farming practices and support local farms 3 - Rinse your produce in a mixture of baking soda and vinegar or in some cases peel the outer layer. 4 - Filter your air, especially if in high dense area on the map below.

I've noticed that people are writing and communicating more like AI. It's infiltrating the syntax of language. You have to pay attention to AI videos and listen to the use of simile, which is a tool that AI frequently uses. It's not just simile though, but how it's deployed.

The ability of bacteria in your mouth impact systemic health is massively underestimated Oral bacteria release byproducts like glutamate, lactate, endotoxin, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and homoserine These compounds can be absorbed through sublingual or buccal membranes into circulation, membranes which are under-filtered compared to the intestine Many are directly inflammatory, or activate specific receptors in the nervous system The oral microbiome is also solely responsible for nitrate metabolism Nitrates from vegetables, pesticide, etc, are circulated and excreted into saliva where bacterial nitrate reductase converts them into nitrites which are then swallowed and converted into nitric oxide in the intestine In some ways this process is protective, for example by increasing oral pH and preventing enamel breakdown When this nitrate reduction is lost due to oral dysbiosis, increased carcinogenic protein nitration byproducts can be created Lastly, oral bacteria like P. gingivalis have been found within the brain's of Alzheimer's patients, and are implicated in heart disease Oral health is the whole body health
