Our team has partnered with Windows to update the Windows Search Box, helping make it faster, more relevant, and easier to use. Changes include a simplified home screen, clearer results, and more user control. You can see an example in the Before/After screenshot below. The search results are only organic – no sponsored results. These improvements become available to Windows Insiders today. Lately I’ve been getting questions about Copilot Search in Bing and how we compare to Google AI Mode. They’re both excellent AI search products but we’re taking a different approach for some query segments. As you can see in the video below, both provide compelling generative responses for a query about the best time to visit Victoria. Yet for the follow-up queries about pictures of the popular Butchart gardens and the weather forecast, Copilot Search provides richer answer cards although without generative descriptions. Let us know what you think, and if you’d have a preference… Either way the convergence of traditional and generative search in the future years will be fascinating and we hope you come along for the ride.
